Rooster, I'm pretty certain you'd never recruit a bloke who wasn't available for a GF too...

I don't know if that's a troll. lol
It's a comment more about 'professionalism'.
You could be right though....

But it's undefendable really isn't it?

I don't know the circumstances of when he found out he couldn't make it, whether he could get around it and when he told the club.

Maybe he didn't expect Longies to make the GF. We were sitting fourth a couple of years ago and had just lost to TTG by a couple of goals who went on to win the comp. Daniel Thomas had a holiday booked for GF weekend. He said he would have changed it if we made it though.

Maybe Longies don't pay for finals and poor Che had enough?

I think it is.

When did he and the club find out he couldn't play? What was the reason for him going overseas?

Whether you meant to or not DW, you got a bite.

Yeah, it was probably a bit below the belt. But, in the context of this debate about recruiting it's a fair thing to talk about.

You'd be right Doggie, But what sort of bloke wouldn't want to play or would make himself un-available for GF, Che wasn't alone, doesn't matter really the dust has cleared and they are fine with their recruits i'm sure.

And i haven't read the Bunyip lately (I gave up after some of the harsh critism of Tommy Dawkins) but good luck and honestly best wishes to Greg Phillips, it is for all intents and purposes the biggest coup since well,,last year when wangas slotted a lazy eight.

But i hope that Greg brings all of his enthusiasm and energy with him as we might not all like the rams, we want a strong comp and if this helps them be more competitive all the better.

Had a dream about Erin Phillips once, but that's probably best posted on another website

I was at Salisbury North when Greg coached out there, i thought he was harshly dealt with there... i reckon he is quite a decent coach who takes the time to actually teach the players.. its a very good move by Virginia to get him.

You talk about name calling, then call me a 'peanut' and other sundry names. Pot, kettle, black.

Now Torp, when you posted your comment regarding whether Rooster has anything to "offer other than name calling", it was immediately after this post.

The Rooster wrote:You'd be right Doggie, But what sort of bloke wouldn't want to play or would make himself un-available for GF, Che wasn't alone, doesn't matter really the dust has cleared and they are fine with their recruits i'm sure.

You didn't mention any post on page 51 when you posted this:

torp wrote:HEY ROOSTER got anything better than name calling. TW footy club a joke

So the only evidence I could call upon was Rooster's most recent post.

So obviously you don't know where the quote button is to point out the 'name calling' on page 51, or/and Rooster is able to offer something other than 'name calling' as was proven in that post.

Or maybe you’re possibly being a tad recalcitrant?

Rooster, my comments are not personally directed at you mate, just my opinion of the Two Wells Football Club and they way they have presented themselves. I know of a number of applicants for the coaching position at the club in the past where they havent acted in a professional matter e.g A club ask's for coaching applications? People take the time and effort to apply and the club for what ever reason choose's not to inform the applicant that he or she were unsuccessful = That is unporfessional.

Appoint a coach on playing ability then sack him mid season = unprofessional

Not sure what happened this year with Mossy, but that is a huge loss and I would be dissapointed that if he'd applied wasnt re-appointed?

Regarding the United recruits of Vandenberg and CC, that is = unprofessional on the players part and the club would be better off with out them, I am sure that club is embarrassed that they were unavailable, but they didnt know until that week.

Might Hounds - ummm?? I think we all know that Jansen was a local, but I think he was underated by the club.

No offence taken matey, and PJ was underated, but if you were to walk in the club now and have a chat to some of the elder statesmen and they would tell you about him, so you may be right, but he was Rated by some in the red and whites. and yuo'll probably find the same blokes that run and handle things at two wells busy working till all hours of the night

and just on another point you made, it may be un-proffesional to sack a coach mid season, but if you are certain that the path that your coach is heading is not where you want to go, what option do you have? Stokesy was sacked from Virginia and i know the man and have spoken with him since his sacking and he was still on the job and still had a vision to turn things around so thats un-professional.
