Bit rough on the bloke, he’s called for 40 years & along side Matt Hill is clearly the best caller in the land. He was beside himself post race & couldn’t apologise enough. The support he’s since received from all & sundry shows the respect he has in the industry.
Mistakes happen.

Only tape the replays so didn’t hear anything after the race, but really he had no choice but to own his mistake. It’s not great no matter what spin is put on it. Poor owners watching the replay for years to come listening to another horse being called the winner
