Mate's horse is running Cranbourne R10 today at juicy odds #10 Chakado. There is a very short priced fave in the race with D Lane steering it, so it is definitely up against it. Having said that, if it doesn't get too far back (as it tends to do) it may just be rattling home.

Considering WA don’t get too many big races, when you have a Group 1 worth $1.5 million you would hope the race caller would call the correct winner. Had an absolute mare  Very embarrassing.

IF you are betting at Strath today 24/11/2024 take care
Races 1 and 5 are listed over the distance of 1600m
There is a track problem and both races will now be run over about 1550m

Bit rough on the bloke, he’s called for 40 years & along side Matt Hill is clearly the best caller in the land. He was beside himself post race & couldn’t apologise enough. The support he’s since received from all & sundry shows the respect he has in the industry.

Only tape the replays so didn’t hear anything after the race, but really he had no choice but to own his mistake. It’s not great no matter what spin is put on it. Poor owners watching the replay for years to come listening to another horse being called the winner :D

They’ve since rectified the call so all repeats of the race have the correct horse called.
