Hope Adelaide are allowed to play in WA next year twice and get paid $2.5 million

Because AFL need to look after the WA teams and their extra travel, hence the timing and leverage was perfectly negotiated.

Why do they have to look after the WA teams. Not the AFLs concern they are based on the other side of the country
We’ll see if they have to travel over there after round 15

Gather Round has added more travel for them on top of an already heavy schedule. Perth teams often found themselves travelling to Tassie also with no direct flight.

I presume just looking at the raw numbers that this money helps them fund their football operations whilst keeping them in the positive for the year. Without this money I guess they cut their expenditure in the football ops department

That’s all great but how does that increase their chances of getting the W whilst playing in WA twice instead of Tassie where they did appear to have an advantage on field.

Barely won a game anywhere in the last 4-5 years, have won 5 out of our last 7 in WA.
