We got $1.6m to play 4 games per year in Hobart, we will now receive $2.5m to play 2 games in WA per year AND get 2 more home games back in Melbourne.

For those saying we have sold out, well we sold games in our last premiership year and that worked out ok.

Great deal for North if that’s how it goes but how is able to happen

Hope Adelaide are allowed to play in WA next year twice and get paid $2.5 million

Because AFL need to look after the WA teams and their extra travel, hence the timing and leverage was perfectly negotiated.

Why do they have to look after the WA teams. Not the AFLs concern they are based on the other side of the country

We’ll see if they have to travel over there after round 15

Venues are already locked in for the whole season, only the timeslots are in the balance after R15.

Gather Round has added more travel for them on top of an already heavy schedule. Perth teams often found themselves travelling to Tassie also with no direct flight.

Didn’t realise they were up from Round 15, I looked on the app yesterday and it only went up to Round 15.

North should still have to travel to WA to play the WA teams in their home games.

Oh well, they willingly chose to join a rebranded VFL.
The interstate clubs had their chances to make it a true National comp but blew it

Flexing the need to sell home games to stay afloat is an odd take

Not sure what the income NM get for playing in Tassie as I couldn't find anything in last years report but NM made $269k in 2023 whilst increasing their football ops spend by $3m from the year before. I presume just looking at the raw numbers that this money helps them fund their football operations whilst keeping them in the positive for the year. Without this money I guess they cut their expenditure in the football ops department

That’s all great but how does that increase their chances of getting the W whilst playing in WA twice instead of Tassie where they did appear to have an advantage on field.

Barely won a game in Tassie the last 4-5 years, have won 5 out of our last 7 in WA.
