Great to see Joe just bat like he does. He's struggled at times to find his groove in this new England set up but he's always been a class above and should just play his way. Brook is an unbelievable talent, that pitch was tough at the start and he made it look easy. Crawley has to drop out for Bairstow in the ashes, not sure how that will work but honestly Crawley is just a walking wicket when it swings.

Root doesn't need to change anything in the new 'Bazball' set up and he showed that today.
Bairstow in for Crawley or in for Foakes (and take the gloves again) seems to be the two options when he's ready to come back.

This is why wood or Archer have to play for us. We struggle with the tail everytime when it's these 3 seamers. As good as broad has been I get the feeling he may not play in the ashes much.

Is this yet another example of why the follow on is dead these days? Bowlers look absolutely cooked! Will have to chase fair target on final day pitch. I know England have this new aggressive mindset so not surprised they tried, but may come back to bite them on the arse!

This is pitch is flatter then day 1 and 2. England will chase this down comfortably just as did multiple times in the English summer, we love 4th innings chases now.
