Can anyone tell me have the changes been made for the import rule or are they still looking at it?
I also say that if they drop the import's down then the Barossa League will not be known as a strong league.

Well I'm not involved with the league Brad Man so you guys would probably know better than me, I only live close-ish by and have a bit of an interest. Doesn't it go by the ladder position of the previous year combined with the location of the club, as in how far away from Adelaide?

Hi Pag.

Yes you right it is worked on a win/ lose ratio over the past three years and Population. The director have the ability to add or take away a import if they feel it is in the best interest of the comp. However i feel that this power the directors have has been used wisely
My concern is that the total number of imports in the comp. will go from 48 in 2007 to 26 in 2008, this will reduce the standard of the comp. I just dont want to see the BLG a once proud league be a Mickey Mouse Comp. So really Pag it is about finding the right number of imports that clubs can afford and holding the standard not what each club is allocated,

Hafey this post maybe a to deep for your small under developed brain,

I wouldn't want to see the standard dissolve either. I'd be interested to know the boundaries with Souths/Centrals/Willaston though.

Obviously population wise Freeling and Barossa have the advantage, and they're taking their chances. What about say if the league allowed for a certain amount of imports as a total number, say 45, which allows for 5 per team. And Population is probably isn't the best way to measure it, not everyone in the town is a 18-35 year old male who can play footy.

I think no matter what they do, every club is going to have its good and bad cycles. That's just how footy is.

Pag, All teams in the BLG have the same boundry, It goes along Curtis Road (North of Smithfield) out behind Angle Vale to Two Wells. Basically if i lived in that area near Andrews Farm i am local for all teams, likewise if i lived in Riverton i am local for the Gawler sides.

Were Barossa and Freeling have been able to control the comp. in recent years in import numbers/ locals returning after years of leaving mainly due to no success, so both clubs do need to come back to the pack, or better still the pack needs to come up to the standards of them.

I understand that mate, but if the league is measuring populations, what is the boundary that seperates, say Willaston and Gawler Central, to measure population?

Dempsey to leave Bulldogs?

Also, well done to the Barossa Districts trainer who received an SANFL Affiliated Leagues award today for her photography.

Heard a whisper today from a bloke half-involved at Willaston saying they may be losing a few down to the Southern League, including maybe Baker x2?

Although he did say Coghill has re-signed.
