not sure who said it now, but will cars be alloud in for the GF - atleast this would spread out the crowd a bit more. can anyone confirm this??

Porties whilst a great ground - benefits 1 club - and has a bad stench with kids fighting in the car parks and on the ground....the move to South whilst an ordinary ground gives the parents a safe place to watch their kids and gives the seniors an opportunity to strut their stuff on a big arena - players don't really care - they just want to play in a GF.
The GF should rotate between South, Glenelg and West - no arguments then about who profits from the day - no arguments about the history of the ground and the kids and parents all enjoy playing footy because they don't have to put up with kids running on the ground and fighting.

Shoes oval was good when i played on it! Still is.
Go the cocklies this week! it would be great to see Brighton Porties GF. That would pull a crowd! no matter where it is.
Youve got to be kidding me dont you. both teams are good enough to play in the GF. but the crowd comment is way off the mark. Those two teams dont have the greatest follwing crowds going around. especially brighton. you mite get some interested observers from other clubs but "pull a crowd" more like youd have to "rent a crowd".
Now Lova......as with the Pavlova you are certainly out of date and no longer the flavour of the month......Brighton will pull a huge crowd come the GF.....quoting a great coach of ours from the past in Mark Naley....why perform in front of 200 people - but put 50,000 in front of me and i'll put on a show.....same thing with the Bomber followers......give them something to cheer about and they'll be about in their thousands.....otherwise they will be sipping chardy's at home.....in pink sweaters mind you.....

having played a GF's at both venues I can tell you without a doubt the atmosphere is much better at Porties, the outer wing at South is a wasteland. The outer wing at Porties was where you wanted to take that hanger, horns blaring, people cheering compared to a couple of kids cheering because they saw a deserted side of the oval to kick the footy! I'm all for exposing juniors to league grounds and the atmosphere of it but isn't that what mini-league is for? GF should be on a rotating basis between Pt Noarlunga, Bice and Noarlunga (shoes) Ovals! Surely The Pres being a Cop would be able to organise something more benefitial!

I'll get the feedback from a few more people before we would put in a full proposal, Not being biassed with it I genuinely think it would be great there. alot of maintenance work and upgrades happened this year and would now definately be suitable in 2008.
Let me know what other people think, everyones open to ideas, just to get it away from Noarlunga, as said before its a local venue it needs to bring back the atmosphere. tally ho

But until a club put forward a proposal that can gaurantee safety, crowd control, ambulance access, no under age drinking etc then i cant see the GF going anywhere unfortunately. And i'm sure the league will point to the fact there havent been any major incidents since its been shifted.
Perhaps a few blokes can organise a fight that interrupts the match this year...
Aldinga Vs Fly, Hotdogs Vs Mexican.....shouldnt be too hard.

Im pretty sure with the reference to it being to far for Brighton only- c'mon are yous that soft that driving half hour to get to a grandy is to much? or you just worried your gel will dry out by then? Look at all aspects of it not just 1.
