I don't know you blokes? is it a good thing? i realise Gav and Che are exceptional players and are a wealth of knowledge but perhaps just looking beyond the face of it, is it a good thing? are there fringe players at longies who wont get a run in the A-Grade Final series, granted Longies B-Grade will play and these players will no doubt get a run in the magoo's but it's not the same. or is the Rooster just talking nonsense?

Some Tough questions troops!! All will be revealed at twenty to three tomorrow.

I tell you first hand , that che and gav are a breath of fresh air to Mr & Mrs Smith out there on them plains..

The people in light/wakefield council are currently embroiled in a nasty court battle blaming the water suppliers on the current spate of birth defects in the district.

The amount of people who turned out to watch Wangas play at Longies on Saturday proves it can only be a good thing for the Association. How often does the Channel 7 news crew get out to the APFL. Also helps when Wangas bags 8 goals as well!

as soon as you bag a bloke he goes and does something good. Still, Burton is a dud!
A couple of things from the weekend: United pumping Mallala was unexpected but not Gav kicking a bagfull. Despite this lets hope Longies dont destroy their own club for what will only be a maximum of a five game cameo. As for Channel 7 being there, the only one who benefits from it is Gavin as im sure zero focus will be on the where and who he is playing. Does anyone know of the reaction of the bloke who was left out for him to play. Cant imagine it would have been all that well received. Might be an easy recruit for someone next year :?
As for Virginia. The boys on the field try hard but it must be difficult for them every week to rock up knowing that they are more than likely going to be pumped. Their supporters love to give players are hard time from the opposition but are reluctant to cheer when their own team do something good. They are also no where to be seen in the club rooms after the game with the Hummocks more than tripling their numbers. Disappointing boys. I feel sorry for the old blookes in their running the bar.
As for the blokes who just want to do circle work in their cars during the game, seriously :(

Seeing the rubberman strut his stuff on Sat was certainly an eye opener. What a class act! Not sure anyone expected him to kick 8 goals wedgie but credit to him, having not trained and not knowing too many at United, he conducted himself well and with little fuss. Its a pity the game blew out so much in the last quarter. The bar was lifted a few notches on Saturday by the Tigers.
Lets hope for the sake of country footy, that our league doesnt turn into an annual bidding war! Im glad United dont have a soccer team though, word has it from the "Galaxy" that becks and posh are not happy in the US!!!

We were lucky enough to be treated with Dirt Bikes last match at Virginia.
They just need a few jumps around the ground to make it a bit more entertaining.

Speaking of prize Tiger recruits. I think Sheeds has put in an application for the coaching position next year.

Well what a big finals series we may well be in for. The Tigers sending Mallala tumbling back to earth, Hummocks continuing their winning ways while Two Wells and Balaklava fight it out for the remainding spot in the 4. We may very well see the top 3 spots coming down to a mere 1% if mallala are to lose to Hummocks in their next encounter, with the Tigers and Eagles continuing to win. Im looking forward to watching some good and exciting footy. :)

All is in readiness for a big finals series. I feel a bit sorry for old Gav as he is going to have a nice little run into the finals then all is going to come crashing down around him when he lines up next to a Rangy Valentine or Catty. Might not be as easy to kick eight on these fine fellas. No offence swamp to your team intended.
Given the fact there is no signed on forum members for Balak (it appears, although Lucas Evans often sticks his beek on here for a bit of gossip) im hoping the Eagles pump the Peckers this week and allow for a smoother passage for roosters mob to make another appearance in the finals.
If truth be known, should Hummocks finish third they would much rather play the red and white than the baby pooh green and yellow!!

None taken Wedgie!!! :) He certainly got off likely Saturday unfortunately, i dont reckon he would have pulled up too sore sunday in terms of any knocks. Some bigger, more aggressive bodies directed in his direction and he wont have a crack at too many hard balls on the deck. Guaranteed. Bit of physical hostility and id say he'd loose interest pretty quickly, lets be honest if i had a brownlow, couple of AFL flags and will eventually be inducted into the AFl Hall of Fame, i wouldnt be coming out and playing hard and passionate country footy at 32 or whatever he is, particularly for a club that i dont give two shits about? You be the judge! Harsh but he killed the magpies with too much free space and without any physical pressure at all.  Its something that all clubs will need to deal with in the finals.

Did i mention he killed us with his awesome skills and just pure class! :(

You can't blame a guy for wanting to come out and play with one of his mates Swampie. I'm sure every spectator would agree that it was a big buzz to see a Brownlow Medalist in action, even if it was only Country Footy like you say. I'd be surprised if Wangas lines up for enough games to qualify for the finals, so don't lose too much sleep over it! Catty would be stoked to line up against Gav, and Damo Case would be asking for an autograph if his shoulder wasn't rooted!

I'm sure the Eagles would love to play the Roosters seeing they haven't been able to knock the mighty Eagles off for years! But I'm with you Wedgie, it would be funny to see the much fancied Peckers miss out on September action.

Dunno what your on, but i never questioned whether he wants to play with his mates or not droppie, im just questioning his committment if things get a bit tough and heavy and there's a chance he may have to lay a tackle or take a hit, my bet is that he'll wont be near it!
and......
when i say its only country footy, its fair to say that its a few steps below what he is used to and im guessing his level of committment has also dropped a few levels. I thought most blokes would understand what i was on about

Hummocks/Watchman vs Balaklava: Eagles by 11 goals and peaking

Two Wells vs United: United by 9 goals

Hamley Bridge vs Mallala: Magpies by a few

There's no point in Wangas being out there if he wasn't ready to take a hit. As long as it's fair and in play.
But he's smart enough to play well without having to get the hard ball.
It doesn't really matter because I doubt he'll be sighted for the rest of the year. He definately wouldn't want to play footy at Hamley Bridge. I don't even want to play footy there!

Maggies by 15 goals Swampie! Easy.

I think he'll play against Balak, but won't qualify for the finals.
He's not named for Two Wells tomorrow.

Thanks for the Heads up Droppo!!

But to weigh in on this issue, in a hypothetical way.

I love Gav, reckon he's a champ and on that one day in sep 2004 he was outstanding, but say for example he turns out against Balak and one of those ogres polaxe him. :-k

Wasn't there an incident a few years back with a go kart track and a mini bike or something, Gav fell off and injured himself. Didn't Gav sieu the strides of that place.

I certainly wouldn't want to play against him if he was going to sieu me if i "accidently" ran into him and he got injured.
i would have thought he would give a bit back to the Magpies or Salisbury North personally has he no roots!!
Sorry people I only deal in facts!

Not too much out of the ordinary as far as results went boys. Great to see the hummocks smash the living daylights out of the peckers! As mush as a close game is a good game, this can not be said when playing that mob! :D

On a sour note, my thoughts are with Andy Evans who for the second time in a few weeks suffered a sickening head high knock. All was fair and in play but for the big fella to end up in hospital for a few nights with dinner plates and corkscrews in his face is not good.
Hope you get better soon champ. Enjoy that soup through a straw

Dp we know why Gav didnt play on the weekend. Did it have anything to do with Port playing a sat arvo game and whether he has gameday commitments with them :? If so what will happen if United make it to the GF and Port play a finals game on that same day?

Anyway thats for him and Longbies to worry about. Just quietly, the Eages look awesome on Sat. Everything just clicked in finals type weather!

It certainly was a great day for footy Wedgie! Not good to hear about Evo. Can you elaborate on what happened at all mate?

Wangas had work commitments apparently. Doesn't look the Tiges need him to play they way they thumped the Roosters, but he's certainly icing on the cake. No surprise to see Mallala get up. I was only 3 goals off!

Yeah great result to smash the stinking peckerheads hey Wedgie! I see a suspect jagging a sauage roll in the twos. Left foot, checkside from about 50 out know doubt!!! Nothing is going to stop the eags now not even swampy and his maggies or United's chequebook!
