Reckon it's more the way they have lost.
But as I said they certainly have he talent to turn it around.

Lobbe got dropped and Carlisle is average at best. Same with monfries. Good player but not a world beater.
Yes, you're right, but then you've got to put into context what impact their presence would have in the side, and if they're better than some others in the side - if the side is better with them available then clearly they're losses.
The loss of a genuine ruck showed yesterday I thought, Port were smashed in the centre.

Has to be more to it than that.
Reckon your midfield has all taken a step back and that's the real issue. How many of them can say they have even stayed the same as last year? Not too many.
Gray is about the only one that can hold his head high in that group.
Ryder, Monfries, Lobbe, Schulz, Gray and Carlile missing.
Two lead ruckman, full forward, full back, best on baller.
I agree with u boon, 5 of those 6 back in makes a totally different side.

On form so far this year the crows look easily the best out of those teams you mentioned.
If Melbourne can start getting consistent they could easily make it. But I reckon they are 1 year away.
Port look in terrible form but being 4-4 and not playing well has to be cause for optimism, as it is a good base for them to launch from. Last year they came from too far back.
There was a bit to like about Richmond the other night ... Too late for them to make a run at the last spot in the 8?

Didn't they win 9 in a row a couple of years ago to just scrape in.

It's not going to get any easier in the Ruck for Port this weekend.
In saying that, makes it easier for your on ballers when you know you won't win a hit out.

I'm not sure they watch the same game as me sometimes, this mornings had Young as our best, while worthy of a mention surely Wines was Ports best yesterday? He was listed third best.
A couple of weeks ago they had B Crouch in against the Dogs....

I'd imagine so, yes.

Poor Wines seemed to be playing a lone hand yesterday in the middle.. are the rest of Port's midfield afraid to get their hands dirty?
Also wouldn't mind seeing Krakouer play higher - elite ball user, rarely misses a target and can give it a fair roost, might actually be able to spot a target I50 or kick a long range goal.
Port shot themselves in the foot yesterday trying to do the unselfish thing and centre balls etc, and didn't hit their targets - should've been well in front at half time and no contest.

Yep. 20 hitouts to advantage compared to 7.
Once again our work rate stopped. Collectively our midfield group was very average yesterday.
