The entire support base of the SANFL - outside of Richmond - breathes a collective sigh of relief. Next week's game will be at least watchable, if also entirely predictable.

Got to wonder about the orientation of West Adelaide. Gave the Foxtel Cup a red hot crack and came away with the chocolates, but at what cost to their premiership chances? Certainly the club needed the prizemoney, and Collo did his best to manage the demands on his players, but clearly this could not counter the effects of a season in which the only scheduled rest occurred during the state match weekend. West was badly in need of a rest and it showed today; particularly in the final quarter when the Bloods were walloped in every aspect of the game. It is a sad indictment on the state of the sport in this country if a team is prepared to lengthen the odds of it taking out its domestic premiership in favour of chasing quick cash.

I was at the game today we were terrible and North were far too good. North deserved to win and having seen them play all their games in the finals certainly look like they will take it up to Norwood next week. I would have to agree with Brodlach our team selection for the last 3 weeks has hurt us but I doubt that no matter who was selected this week North still would have won. Good luck to North next week and I think they have a definite chance of winning.

If the coach and players shared in the spoils of the $100k win (lets say they took 50% of that) then the club sold it's shot at the SANFL Premiership for $50,000.

No wonder they jumped in and voted yes to the Crows annual offer of a similar figure.

Not a bad game I thought. Westies battled well up until 20 minute mark of 3rd quarter. There were times up to that point that North looked like they would break away but West kept battling and hanging in there. West had moments where they ran the ball well and should have had another 3 or so goals up to 3/4 time. West also looked tired at times but kept on coming so well done to them.
I thought some West players took their eye off the ball as the game went on with No 12 focusing on hurting the already injured North player. This focus cost a free and goal and wasnt necessary. Play hard but in my opinion that means getting the football at all costs.

North on the other hand looked fresher and when they ran to space they did it very quickly and looked dangerous. Once they got into gear in the latter part of the 3rd the goals started to come.

According to those t-shirts it's called the 'Foxtel Cup League' now.

North far to good , We were cooked last week and showed again this week.

Thanks to Collo for the work that he has put into us, but now it is time for the next phase and hopefully we can keep the majority of this playing list together.

West Adelaide’s Adam Hartlett has accepted a three-match ban for striking North Adelaide’s Todd Miles in Sunday’s Preliminary Final at AAMI Stadium.

Hartlett, who struck Miles seven minutes into the fourth term, had until 9am on Tuesday to decide whether he will contest the charge but has already accepted his three-match sanction.

In making its assessment, the SANFL’s Incident Review Panel deemed Hartlett’s conduct was intentional, that he made high contact and that the impact was medium.

The fact Miles was able to return to the field and complete the match, coupled with North Adelaide declaring Miles had a clean bill of health after the game, was taken into consideration.

Hartlett received a one-match ban in 2012 and has been reported twice this year for using offensive language.

The results should mean that North replace West in next years Foxtel Cup. Assuming both Norwood & North accept the invite.

Roosters should also get to play in ANZAC Day game next year.

11 players in North's side today are players that couldn't get games for Port, Sturt, Centrals, Eagles, etc.
No salary cap issues at Prospect, just heart.

Gee you guys jump ship quickly.
5 weeks ago these guys were a gutless rabble who didnt deserve to play finals according to most North fans ;)

We weren't Jim. We got belted by Sturt and Glenelg, and threw away a double chance.

Oh, so it's just now that they've got heart!
I thought it was because they no longer played for Central, Port, Sturt etc...
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
