Why don't some of these clubs refuse to play on the ground. Both clubs have to sign off on the surface as fit, safe and healthy to play on the morning of game day. Here's a thought, instead of putting over 100 children and men in an unsafe environment by playing on that surface simply don't sign off on the ground as fit to play on. Apparently spending tens of thousands of dollars on an electronic scoreboard is more important than player safety to Mt Barker. Oh... and tens of thousands of dollars going into the pockets of many A grade players. I challenge the remaining clubs who have to play on this dung hole to make a stand at the start of the day and refuse the ground as a fit surface to play on. The HFL has an obligation to follow up on this also... but will they??

i see that barker have two more home games this year. is the oval good enough to see the year out, or will they have to move them? agree that it might need the hfl to step in in make the hard decision as barker have a vested (financial) interest in not moving.

The stupid thing is these days all of the under age footy seems to be played at Mt. barker Oval meaning it gets churned up even more (its bad enough to begin with.)
All of the under age footy used to be played at Mount Barker PS and Mount Barker South PS but they seem to have moved all the games to the main oval no idea why though stupid decision.

Would have thought that would have happened at Bridgewater years ago but never did.

And with possible hail and thunder. Might be a little uncomfortable on any Hills oval tomorrow.

Worst conditions for training I've ever seen at Thunder Park last night and training was adjusted to eating schnitzels and watching cricket.

Perfect day for footy at Callington today. No rain and the oval was in great condition. Raiders over Loby in all grades except U13s.

Will the game at Mt Barker go ahead next Saturday or will the HFL move the game. I heard yesterday if it goes ahead that some interested people from The Advertiser, Occ Health & Safety as well as the EPA will be there to conduct some official enquiries. I'm not sure the HFL need that sort of bad press.

Apparently reports and yellow cards are down in HFL over past few weeks ... may be because umpires are actually talking to players ... perhaps the recent article in the local press hit a nerve???

a couple of shocks in

Hahndorf over Uraidla 7-10 to 4-13
and TV over Lobey 10-9 to 3-4
with Barkeroos def Blackwood in the fog 14-19 to 3-3
opens up that final 5 and pressure on Lobey to keep 3rd with Mt Barker taking out the Minor Prem being 3 games and % up with 2 to go

What has happened to loby in recent times. They came out on fire early in the season and now have really dropped off. Is it injuries?
Be interesting to see if they can hold third being only 1 game clear and having to play Barker and uraidla while onkas have bridgy and blackwood.

Also what were conditions like at heathfield on sat for only 6 goals to be kicked?

Is it a bit tough stating a team has 'really dropped off' when they're still a game clear in 3rd?
