Great work by Kurtze and particularly Duldig. People knock the big fella, but he is just so clever and gives 110% every time he takes the field.
And have to make note of the courageous effort by Jack Stephens running back into a contest at the end of the second qtr - inspiring stuff.

I think that the problem's not so much the slow legs but the fact that yesterday we didn't run hard enough off the ball and spread into space etc. If the players work hard enough speed won't be as much as an issue as it was yesterday. A side who's won 5/9 matches is fast enough if it works hard enough IMO.

With the greatest respect to you as a fellow member RB, our mids are the problem and have been for a long long time! 2011 was the last hoorah of a well balanced talented group who hung onto and rated the words of their new coach!
The young and the old gave one mighty effort in the last half of 2011 and guess what... it just got it done!
That is a long time ago now and the game style that it takes to be the best now requires mids to win the ball pressuring as a group, then run and spread as fast as possible; but our lot can't do that unless the opposition is weak and are not working hard to stop it. Re. North Adelaide mid's are the best!
The proof is that we get smashed against the good teams and Powell and Lewis get in the Best Players BUT the opposition gets no pressure at all from either once the ball is just out of their grasp! No defensive action at all from those two and Rowntree, gives opponents all the break they need to set their team up for a nice day![]()
It's 30 league games since the 2011 Grand Final and we are where we are because of Horrible Recruiting except Ainger, THE Hangover and Godden's belief in a game style that was out dated during 2012.
The opposition also can too easily move the ball out of their defense most of the time because we are too slow to put any effective frontal pressure on them with our midfielders![]()
I could go on and on with this but ffs, it's obvious isn't it!

What we also foget to take into account is that if the full forward leads quickly and taking into accoutn size / pace, it is very difficult for any defender to anticpate when they go and also then to make up the ground if the ball is delivered lace out. A full back can have a bucket load kicked on him through no fault or lack of his own endevour.

That may be true and I used to get annoyed at how Duldig could out pace most of his opponents but having watched him closely since he moved to Sturt more so and has played well against us, I think he is not given the credit he is due. He is a very smart footballer in terms of using his size, his limitations and making the most of his opportunities in a team who has in the main struggled for a few seasons.

I couldn't agree more. He has always caused the roosters grief and it is because of his ability to read the game and his excellent speed off the mark. He has always kicked very well against us as well. A much underrated player over a long period of time.
