Not happy they lost but it is a good indication that the comp will be an even one that anyone can still win, as SDemon mentioned they do have this belief that they are now a good chance for a flag, but this may have changed some opinions after the loss and it just won't happen for them and they will have to work still to get it. I honestly though they looked that much better than I had seen after the game but maybe we were also
Just that much worse.

From what I saw last night, not knowing if that was their best side or not, they are a fair way behind SMOSH as the best team in this grade.

I agree, I went and watched the game on Friday night and thought Salisbury were pretty impressive. The gullies team is made up of mostly reserve players from last year and new players with only a very small handful from the div7 grand final.
People like Steve Daniels will play mostly B's this year and would think that it's his only game in div8 for the year.
Definitely no need for people to panic...

Must admit, I was one that thought initially that this team will dominate but not having seen the top sides play it was a bit premature to assume that they would be a top 2 side. SMOSH are always very good and Modbury are now in a better comp for them than Div 7. Add PAOC who always seem to come good second half of the season. Salisbury in the last couple of years have always been tough and just missed out by a game or two where they may have been hurt by injuries so maybe this could be thier year too. Div 8 is shaping up to be a very tough competition, not just a "kick and a catch" for old guys.

Great wins by both our C's and D's today, smashed Brahma.

Just with the D grade, I know it's still early in the season and I applaud BL for getting a D grade up and running but after a 268 point win to our D's today how long will the BL D grade last? I wish the best of luck to them, obviously they have great numbers but just how long will guys put up with heavy defeats?

35 players through 4 grades unavailable today so fielding sides each week won't be a problem

Modbury 18.11 (119)

Tea Tree Gully 3.8 (26)

The fix is in. I see Gullies are throwing matches to keep the cynics at bay with all those late signings and we only got a 10 goal win credited for us.

It could have been an even bigger flogging if Modbury had not played around in front of goal so much because TTG were very ordinary on the day.

Tomorrow North Haven club legend and C grade playing coach Geoff 'Buckets' Lawson will play his 300th game for the PAP/NH Football club. I believe he is the third PAP/NH lad to play 300 games and is the only remaining PAPFC lad still playing. I wish the all the best to him and the C grade against Golden Grove.

Yeah massive achievement  Like comparing an under 18's side being top in an under 15's comp.
No surprise that a side that was competitive and by no means disgraced in C1 last year is on top of a D grade competition.

At the end of the day, you can only play in the division that the league puts you in. Time for everyone to move on and deal with it I think!!!

Agreed, you can only play in where you are put, but I personally wouldnt be throwing out comments like "massive achievements", A massive achievement would have been doing this against other A grade sides and not clubs D grade sides. Comments like JamesH are not making it any easier on you to gain any respect IMO.

From memory you blokes performed fairly well in the 2nd half of the season. Three 20 goal losses for a team that finished 2nd bottom is no biggy, would happen in most grades.
