If I were Lister i'd be pretty p**sed off! Balloch selected on the back of a Grade 1 average of 11 and Nixon who although has more wickets has proven more expensive than Lister...
i suppose i gotta make some comment about this dont i...
look when i was informed that i was dropped, yeah admittedly i was hugely disappointed. as any player would be when they are told they will be missing out on finals. truth of the matter is, coaches n captains dont pick players, players pick themselves. i accepted the decision, and the reason behind it. i think it was a fair decision, albeit a tough one to swallow. but we have probably 15 guys who can play A grade and do a job, doesnt take a genius to work out someone is going to miss out
my performances in the last 2 games werent special. and one thingthe scoresheet doesnt show is miss fields and dropped catched. one of the reason behind me being dropped. Nixon is a proven performer with the ball, and also a quality fielder. Jay balloch is handy down the order and again is a very handy fielder. its a string to their bow that i dont have. im somewhat a liability in the field at times.
whether the decision to drop me is a right one still remains to be seen i guess. but so far, winning a semi final in the first day goes a long way to confirming it. and this isnt all just bullsh!t, and me trying to put a good spin on things for the 'media' to try hide an arguement, or bad blood between players at a club because there is no issues with the selection that was made. as i said to them before the semi, and will say to them before the final - i will be there with them, but instead of dropping catches on the boundary i will be dropping them on the other side as they sail for six. wish the boys luck in all grades!!!
