My underlying problem is flat feet and it's finally catching up to me now that I weigh close to 100kg.

Personally was prescribed them and legs were worse...
Read some of Prof. Daniel Lieberman's stuff and make up you own mind. It's strange that the foot is the only part of the body that we need to physical support and manipulate as they don't function correctly.

so you feet are weak and are not supporting you body correctly - do you strengthen you feet or stick a wedge in there?
if you neck was weak would you strengthen it or wear a neck brace?
