They dont make West End so that statement could be true. But it isnt.

Not the best, but they do make very good beer.
My favorite was Yebisu, but that's made in Hokkaido and since the Fukushima accident I try to steer clear of anything North or West from Yamaguchi.
Sapporo and Kirin are also excellent beers and both have breweries right here in Kyushu so I don't need to worry about my wee glowing in the dark.

bollocks, expensive & over-rated twaddle.

You've been sniffing too many flares, burnt out your brain cells and seared your taste buds.
Beer in Japan is cheaper than in Oz, tastes on par with good Aussie beers.
Coopers makes Ale, different category.
I rate VB above Japanese beer.
Best beer I've had here was at a micro brewery. It won a gold medal at a world beer contest. They claimed to have hand picked the finest individual grains for brewing it. Tasted like a waterfall in the garden of Eden on the back of the throat.
Beat that flare boy!
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Sapporo in AUSTRALIA, THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH, is bloody expensive stuff & doesn't taste any different really to most other beers going around. On the other hand, Coopers Pale Ale has won international awards. If the Irish are going to allow Guinness to be made in Adelaide, We here must be doing something right. SO STICK THAT UP YOUR VOLVO EXHAUST PIPE ;)

Australia's Guinness supplies were being made by Fosters for years.
So it is obvious the Irish are not all that choosy...

When I had a Guinness at the factory in Dublin, I was told its not even as good anywhere outside Dublin as it doesn't travel well, and the stuff made overseas is not the same (at all, at all).

Mind you that was late May 2011 and things could have changed, or they could be prepared to lie for International sales or licence fees just like the fashion icons are...

Most of the 'imported' beer is brewed in Australia...

Wouldn't say it varies an overly great deal throughout most of Ireland but when you start getting as far away as places like Cork and Galway there is a slight difference. It certainly doesn't travel well though, places as nearby as London there's a noticeable difference to the product you'd drink in Dublin.

Agreed TSG but it has to be said, West End Draught is the Grange Hermitage of beers!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Our colours were on it that year but not in the top spot! I doubt that we will see yours back on it again before the magpies become the power reserves and therefore leave the SANFL...

no they weren't. Centrals & Eagles played in the 2000 Grand Final. You mean the chimney hasn't looked good since 1999.

Meanwhile the long term Guinness drinkers I drink with rate West End Guinness as 0.5/10. One in particular has complained to both West End and the parent company in Dublin. He still keeps drinking it though. He often says "I'd drink it out of an afghan's underpants if I had to."

West End couldn't brew a fart on a diet of baked beans and cabbage.
