Nope. Just pointing out you didn't have to look too far back to find a better skipper than Punter. Only Kim Hughes and Graham Yallop would be behind Punter in my time. Chappell, Taylor and Pup the best for mine. Border gets a lot of praise and quite rightly as he led from Example but tactically I reckon he let the game drift at times, mainly because of the strength of the teams he was leading.

Went out today so didn't see the Saffers innings. Was it his field placement or bowler rotation that was weak? Normally he is quite good in both departments. We have also completely changed our attack which hasn't happened since the 19th Century...this could be a factor as the element of surprise is now perhaps gone.

A combination of field placings and plans. Unusually for Clarke I thought he was slow to react and let things drift for a tad to long. Persisted with the 6&3 field when maybe a spell from Johnson or Starc with some short stuff may have been worth a try earlier
I think having a bowler in the team really helps his captaincy. I thought our popgun attack was exposed, not Clarke.

I guess we'll see how good a captain Pup is now that Ponting won't be there mentoring him from now on. Let's re-evaluate in 12 months time shall we?
