1st of all that is really unlucky and im sorry to hear from SA point of view - i really enjoy watching him play.
2nd good news to AUS, that's one less wicket we need to take..

Who will replace him?

How did he manage to do this sitting on his ass?

This seems to be an ongoing issue with channel 9. Pathetic and unprofessional. Any reason why the cricket show isn't on? Didn't realise that could be affected by rain too...another reason why stadiums should have the roof option, international sport should not be stopped due to weather

Yep I'm not fussy just would have been nice for them to cross back to broadcast show the weather conditions and give us an update like play won't be commencing in the next 45 minutes etc etc.

If today is lost it will be very interesting to see the Saffies mentality heading into day 3.

Would they have the guts to declare straight away and try to rip through the Aussies on a green pitch

Bat for an hour or so put 350-400 on the board and declare

Or concede the draw grind the Aussies bowlers into the ground try and put 500 plus on the board and keep there bowlers fresh heading into adelaide

There's a long time before tests, they should be allowed to reschedule a day and make tomorrow day 2 so the consumer still gets the same size product *-:)

Seems to be a regular thing in most Brisbane Test Matches, didnt have much affect when the Aussies were dominating and winning in 3 days but we always seem to lose a hell of a lot of play time up there

Could it be time to reconsider where the first test is played.

Adelaide and Perth would be the only other realistic options

I remember them using the rest day in years gone by as a make up day for bad weather/ light. But I don't think we've had s rest day in tests for a few years.

That sounds fantastic. I'd love to see a completely enclosed cricket stadium. Could you imagine the architecture involved? What's the largest fully enclosed sporting arena in the world now? Whatever it is I'm sure it'd be outsized by just about any Aussie international cricket arena with a dome on it. Then there'd be cricket no matter the weather.
When do we start?

EDIT

Did a google: this is currently the largest FESS in the world. Home to the Dallas Cowboys and seats close to 100,000. I think most international cricket grounds would be larger, mainly because of the playing surface. Reading the specs for this stadium was pretty amazing.
Sorry to get off topic, but it is raining.

Apparently it is LOL, I've always hated how when it rains for a whole day during a test match channel nine can't at least put the cricket show on at 12.30 or maybe even a little later on, why can't they?

The best thing they could do when there is a rain/bad light delay, is show footage of old games from the 70's or 80's. I've noticed those old games on Foxtel - perhaps as part of the deal of selling the footage to Foxtel, they cant show it anymore themself..?
