It should be added that somewhere in it, KT did refer to wanting the solution to maintain the integrity of the SANFL competition also.
What it did highlight is that awkward spot KT must find himself in - He loves his SANFL club of that Im sure, but his responsibility now is to his employer and rightly he is doing what he can, that they believe is in the best interest of their club.

I understand that, and no one i suppose would really think he should do anything else.
But it is a serious predicament, him advocating something that could basically end up destroying the environment that Norwood operates in. It could come down to that, and you can't say in one breath that integrity is important but in the next breath say Port Magpies should be the reserves vehicle (disclaimer- information taken from Rucci article)
I don't know how he can reconcile the two, professionally? sure, no problem, personally? i'm not so sure.

FOURTH ESTATE wrote:This is absolutely shattering news. I feel for every East Perth supporter who have had this done to them.
They have sold their soul and turned their backs on their fellow clubs by this deal.
As a long time Claremont supporter it now means that EVERY CLAREMONT PLAYER who is on a Eagles or Dockers list will now have to play for either East Perth or Peel Thunder.
Players who have come up thru the Claremont juniors with their mates will now be told to play else where.
The goal is to win a premiership for your club. Claremont's chance of completing a hat-trick of premierships is almost nil now as a lot of their players who are on thier list are on AFL lists and they are players that have developed from thier development zones and will now have to play for one of the other clubs.
I feel very saddened for our East Perth counterparts who had no say in this matter.

AFL article wrote:The alignment agreement will include a transition phase in 2013 with all newly drafted interstate recruits to be allocated to East Perth or Peel Thunder.
However, AFL players recruited from non-partnering WAFL clubs will remain at that club through 2013.
AFL-listed players allocated to WAFL clubs in 2012 will remain at their existing clubs, except those at Peel Thunder and East Perth, who will transfer to the respective partnering club of their AFL team.

It's pretty obvious that if most clubs are moving towards their own Reserves side to have direct control over the development of their players, any club that continues to farm players out to potentially conflicting game-styles is going to be at a disadvantage.
Why does Glenelg have a Reserves side?
