Hahahahaha. No Sammy is Hosie and marbles's love child. He's too easily put off his game for me. Lol. And yes no doubt seeing your boys in good form with a loss to Flinders Pk and TTG, then wins over Flinders Uni and Modbury have you up and about. Smithfield this week, you must be over the moon to have not beaten a team in the five in the last 4 or 5 games. In fact if my stats serve me correct, so far you have beaten the 4th team Angle Vale (once) and the 5th team Nth Pines (once). So Thats 2 from 12 against the top 5. Talk it up big fella, you need too.

Well it's a joke when the Angle Vale coach comes and apologises to our coach for the appalling display of umpiring we encountered on the weekend. He systematically went about dismantling our spirit one ridiculous decision at a time. At one stage i thought that the benny hill theme music was about to start up. Worst display i have seen in my 22 years playing senior footy. He was even telling their water people to get out of the forward 50 for kick ins. Now in an A grade comp that is a free, or so i thought. There wasn't any silly stuff so i don't know what the problem was!!!! I feel for a few of the Vale lads as they were totally embarassed by the whole scenario. In saying this Vale did play well and desrved the win. But gee it's a long way to go for a game of footy

Congrats to TTG on Saturday. Were willing to work harder than us after half time and deserved the win. Glen Mount was fantastic for them and I felt really stood up for them and lead the way from half way through the second quarter when we were up by 5-6 goals. Dow is a monster and we had no answer for him in the ruck and our midfielders had trouble getting the ball out the middle. TTG's midfield is very good and with Dow being able to pick where ever he wanted to put the ball we just could not stop them. Just confirms what I already knew that we still have a fair bit of work to do until we can match teams like TTG and Mitchell Park for 4 quarters. We learn from this and move onto Modbury this week and try consolidate our spot in the 5.

Not good. Feel for Brett. Needs to get out of there.

----------

On a more positive umpiring note the SHOC D grade umpire was bloody brilliant on Saturday. Was really good to watch a competitive game of footy between two reasonably matched sides (SHOC kicked away late) and barely notice the umpires even though there were plenty of free kicks. Protected the head really well and controlled the game with discretion and understanding. Well done.

Did find it interesting however that the SHOC C's and D's could fit very comfortably between our A's and B's. I am not sure who would win between their C's and D's actually. I hope we don't see another dose of 'flexing' ;)

If it's the same umpire who did the Flinders Park game when they played SHOC in the D's he was definitely one of the better umpires going around. He was pretty chatty and always explained to the players why a free would be given.

Can't see anywhere that I have been talking MP up marbles. TTG are the team to beat as I am sure we will find out saturday. Been saying for 15 weeks now about how good they are. Add Chambers, Vansoest and their latest clearance aquisitions and they look the team for me. Will be very surprised if MP can get over them. You're obviously quietly confident as well, so it looks like a TTG v Henley grand final. If that occurs would you both go up to Div 6?

Gee i did not relise i dismanteled ur spirit, i pretty much confirmed umpiring was bad at some times and did not understand some decisions, and expressed to ur coach that the players and i agree he should not be umpiring. I think you posted on a forum and you are talking it up, to get feedback from others. Going abit over board on worst display.

And as for the waterboys gee there just kids and i think if was a adult in the 50m should have been payed not when kids are helping out it is div 7 and the game was not in the balance.

But the game was played in gr8 spirit, Angle Vales defence was excellent and goal kicking practise is needed. Our zone on kicks killed Flinders Park i can t remmeber how many times we marked a kick in and had shot at goal.

Looking forward to this week our turn to travel all way down to the crabs.

Did I mention TTG's latest "BIG" addition Scotty Fraser. Now they are recruiting key defenders to shut down key forwards.Gun midfield, awesome forwards and now gun defenders. Reckon Scott played A's for Athelstone in a key defensive role. Who is gunna be next Haynsy or are all the calls in now.

Played in great spirits? Haha good on you BPWizard! You have got to be kidding! Was it you or not that decided to run past the ball with an elbow and collect one of our blokes and end up breaking his nose? one of the most disgusting incidents I've seen on a football field. Hope you cop one back!

Hardly "recruiting" Yank Man. Just mates coming out to have a kick together again. And despite your best efforts to deflect any attention brought to it, we all know who the side to beat is ;) Your boys are a very well drilled unit and solid all over the park, I would call it an upset if we get the better of you this weekend, especially on your home deck.

Bigshow, I thought your boys played very well on Saturday and really had us on the ropes. Really proud of the way our lads responded, and as you said Mounty definitely lead the way. Most of the game was played in good spirits, excluding a couple of minor incidents. But all in all a good hard contest.

Unfortunately, the day was marred by a certain slightly intoxicated gentleman (and I use the terms "slightly" and "gentleman" very loosely) strolling into our changerooms after the game telling us next time, when he plays, you are going to smash us and that we are f@*king shit. When politely told that if that's all he had to say he should leave. He proceeded to tell me that I had a target on my back and that I was most certainly f@*ked and he would indeed be smashing me on our next encounter. This prompted me to not-so-politely tell him to get out of the changerooms. Luckily cooler heads than mine were present, whom further politely encouraged him to please leave. After a few more minutes of him yelling about how we were shit they eventually got him out the door. Unbelievably he continued to refuse to leave the front of the changerooms and even sharply shoved one of our players (who had only calmly been trying to get him out of there) in the chest. Luckily, a couple of your guys showed up and got him to settle down and leave.

I realise you probably don't condone this sort of behaviour, but this reflects VERY badly on your club. This guy was an absolute disgrace and if you want to improve your club going forward, I would keep this guy as far away from it as possible. As I said, unfortunate, but has left a very sour taste to what was otherwise a good day of footy.

Good old fashion shepard as our player was running with the ball only thing i did wrong was feet left the ground and his face hit flush on my shoulder. No elbows here and i think you get on here and try to insight the wrong stuff to make Angle Vale look bad and why would i ask umpire to stop game when he was down if i hit him with elbow. And for the fact it was not brett it was other umpire, so don t try to turn this on umpiring again maybe watch the game and if it was elbow why did none of you guys have ago at me, elbow is a crude act.
i take offence to ur comment.
