Round 2 we went to Langhorne Creek and LOTS of our players and supporters headed to their bar for an after match drink and catch up before our LONG drive home... Yesterday.... ONE player came into the Bays clubrooms after the match as he had a connection he wanted to catch up with... SO where is this all heading.. Why arent Clubs reciprocating.. We ALWAYS go back into the oppositions clubrooms... What are others thoughts... and I would love to know why the Creek couldnt reciprocate yesterday..
Creeks had a show back at their clubrooms, think it was the only one for the year organised after an AWAY game.
I dont know whether they socialise in the oppositions clubrooms normally anyway. Limb might know the answer to that one?
Obviously you feel pretty passionate about this issue.
There's no compulsion for players and supporters from opposition clubs to go in for a drink afterwards. If they do, well then thats all well and good but if they dont, i dont think you should be holding it against them. It's an individual choice surely? Lets face it, by the time the 'A' grade is done and dusted and players have cleaned themselves up, it's dark and cold and most just want to get going home.
I'm more involved in cricket and the same occurs there. Some players from some teams hang around for a few but a lot dont, more so the younger players and as footy is more of a younger mans game, that may be your answer.
