You have to wonder (and the same goes for Norwood), whether Westies style which predominantly built from defence keeps them in a high percentage of games, also keeps their opposition in the game on the scoreboard.

They have a lot of talent in their list that you would think could blow the opposition away at times.

the Noah game plan is not sustainable and is deplorable to watch but Collins doesn't know any better ...

Bit hard when you have a 66 hour minimum return trip (provided you have no breaks) to watch an SANFL game.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Very very ugly game to watch yesterday, i'm not sure whether West can take a game on & play attacking football to win, they'd prefer to shut it down, flood down back, keep it low score & " thank your mother for the rabbits " as Rexy Hunt would say & get the points.
I know thats all you have to do to get the 2 points providing your infront, unfotunately Port don't know how to get in front.
Sadly it could be the 1st wooden spoon for Port in my life time

I had Bamford's 3/4 time instructions relayed to me word for word on the way off the ground. To quote," West will flood, so kick long and direct, use the corridor and be smart about it".

Kicking with a howling breeze, that last Quarter was some of the dumbest football I've seen in years (EVER?) from the PAFC. With every West Adelaide player in our forward 50 you'd have to be kidding yourself if you believe their instruction was to play short, hence straight into Andy Collins hands.

I also heard that many players don't like Bamford because he is too hard on them. Well toughen up Princess because I'll never buy into player power!

Probably more of a case of Bamford having been hard on many of these blokes for 5 or more years through the grades.

They might just be sick of the same message etc.

Either way, time for a change.

The question is, who?
PAFC. Forever.

Despite the margin being within a kick or two for pretty much the entire game, I never felt at any stage we could get over the line and win the match. None at all. Might as well have been a 10 goal margin the whole day as there was next to no chance of Port finding a teammate more than twice in a row before turning it over.

The defence worked reasonably well. Beard and Raisiwaka were good, Slattery was alright. the midfield was well beaten. The forward line was non existant, but I wont be too harsh on the forwards. You're gonna struggle to win when you have the ball constantly kicked to the advantage of your opponent. So many genuine leads with kicks that forced the player to prop, stop and attempt to mark in a pack that should have been a lace out kick in front.

Agree with all this, but Port could have very easily stolen in, which they had no right to do, when they had the ball and a few chances around their half forward for a few minutes either side of time on. Only had to be clean once and it would have been 5 points in it. I think this is a huge negative for Collins' style because West were, given the conditions, at least five goals better.

Agreed time for Bamford to go. Bienke was mentioned as a possible replacement In another thread.

Who are the other assistants apart from Bienke ??
