When you report the mechanic to their employer, I doubt they will have a job for much longer, FC.

Either that, or perhaps threaten to report it to their employer and/or police if they don't pay for and arrange repairs immediately to said fence.

I've never tasted it but I have a feeling you are correct, it appears to run from Port River. I always thought it was a man made lake that was enclosed.
Pretty cool really, it's 9:23am and I've learnt something new for the day.

Nope, it runs out into the Port River. The inlet is at the Trimmer Parade end ( near Grange ) and the outlet, under Bower Road ( bottom of Grand Junction ) is opened up to twice a day. I think it may be listed somewhere in government despatches.

Yes, it is man made, my Dad's first job out of school ( he finished year 6 ) when growing up in the Port was catching rabbits on the swamp land that is now West Lakes and skinning them before selling them on his paper round in the pubs of the Port for extra money. :D

It's subject to tidal flows, whilst it probably isn't the same level of salt content as regular sea water it would have to be close.

Also that is how that noxious sea weed (can't recall the exact name) got established in SA. Some idiots dumped a fish tank into the lake and it eventually ended up in the Port River as well.

Caulerpa Taxifolia ;)

PIRSA believe it was from a fish tank, could never be proven though and it was eradicated by not flushing the lake system. Remember a few years ago they stopped swimming/rowing etc for 6 months in the lake as they attempted to kill off the weed by not feeding it any fresh water, which, was in fact salt water. The lack of salt eventually killed it off.

The outlet only opens at low tide, so yes, in some ways tidal flow dictates the lakes flushing.
