Went and Watched the NH v BL game on saturday, BL were quite impressive by foot and spread well Full forward was a dead eye dick which cant be said about Havens FF, Big Tommy Lipson after kicking 11 straight in the first two rounds managed only 1.7 & 1.6 of that was in the first half dont want to lay blame on anyone but had he kicked 5.2 at half time Haven would have been in front and things could have been much different.
cant see the big feller kicking that poor poorly to often and when things click for havens that forward line of theres will do some real damage.

How bad was that second umpire in our game.. Couldn't throw the ball up and listened to players so they got frees.. No idea about the game.. Didn't favour any sides but was terrible.. Still looks like he's learning to his credit but hope we don't see him again this year..

On another note good game dark knight be due for a call up wouldn't you..

Lipton had great hands but that set shot needs some work

Your B grade played a disciplined, structured match, and like you said, no passengers. Your midfield absolutely smashed ours, spread very well and must have won 90% of the clearances. There was not much the backline could have done, they fought it out well and if not for them, would have lost by 15 goals.

The B grade have now played NH, AL and Kenilworth, 3 very tough matches. Pity that from here, it doesn't get much easier :?

He was an angry man. Hahaha :P You liked that mate? I looked up, saw him coming at me and was lucky enough to milk the free kick. Copped it from the crowd but I'll take it.

The midfield was very good, makes life easier when we have 8-10 guys that are capable of running through there. Your back 6 as you said fought hard and can hold their heads high despite the loss.

Big Glenny has improved heaps, probably the most improved player out of anyone at the club over the preseason IMO. He's actually talking a bit more at centre bounces now too which helps alot.

Dude he was terrible! Couldn't throw the ball up to save his life, I felt kind of sorry for him.

Thanks man. :) Was great to get my first win of the year but I don't know about that though. You started well I thought, found some good space but you seemed like you kinda went missing during the 3rd quarter?

Just a bad day for Tommy I reckon like any key forward can have sometimes, he'll be fine.

Errr, No Unknown.

You asked if 2 players from sydney were flown in every week by Glenunga. Answer from Watchy was no, which is correct.

1. They don't fly in every week.

2. They pay their own way, when they do.

3. One of them has not played yet, and not sure if he will do so this year.

4. Doubt the north scares them :)

They are brothers and have played at Glenunga since teenagers, it aint like they are paid Mercs :P

I know it may have changed the momentum and direction of the game, but its a stretch to think in this particular game, especially considering brahmas dominance, that an extra 4 goals at half time would barely have made the difference considering they were 8-9 goals down at half time.

The big fella sure did have a shocker, but despite what he showed infront of the sticks, you could definitely see him kicking some seriously big bags of goals this year. He has some good height and very good hands.

Just for Haven fans.... All is not close to lost

I'll use Brahma as an example as it was their last match. Over the last 3 weeks

Brahma
21.7 (28 scoring shots)
11.17 (28 scoring shots)
12.14 (26 scoring shots)

Haven
8.16 (24 scoring shots)
13.5 (18 scoring shots)
16.8 (24 scoring shots)

You Haven boys lost 2 big units early and allowed brahma to physically dictate, but you had it up their just as much as they did and when you lads ran, you looked really really hard to catch.

More than half your side is brand new, so keep ya heads up lads. All side may lose 5 or 6 so keep at it.
Brahma were very accurate which if you look at there score previous, they had a great day out and full credit to the Brahma lads.

Hilarious, down the north!! Glenunga pays nothing to fly them in. They do it themselves. As said earlier, they have played for the club since they were 17.

Speaking on behalf of Mr. Mooney, he says be patient boys. Moons will be back in 10 weeks from his broken arm and then order can be restored.

Westminster were very unlucky not to notch up their first win for the year against the Roy's. Clancy was dominating and played well along with O'Hara and a few others.

Was a cracker of a game which went end to end all day. Fitzroy piled on 8 goals to 5 in the first qtr but was out scored in the second and third qtr with Westminster being up by 5 goals with 6 minutes to go in the last and the Roy's found a way at home to come back like the week before at Nth Haven and ended up kicking 6 goals in 6 min.

It's now time for Fitzroy to put sides away, With a great start against Nth Haven into the breeze and again against Westminster too which should have been up by at least 5 goals up in the first qtr but gave away 2 easy goals that where preventable in the first qtr which kept them well in the game at the first change.

Good luck to the westminister boys for the rest of the year and are a competitive group so a win shouldnt be far away.

Happens a fair bit at Mt. Fitzroy, I remember Smithfield winning a match a few years back by kicking over 10 goals in the last quarter where both teams kicked in excess of 20 goals each. Mind you, in the other clash for the year Smithfield defeated Fitzroy after the Lions kicked 14 goals in the first quarter in a match that also yielded over 40 goals. It was all in vain though as I'm pretty sure Fitzroy played off in the GF that season and Smithfield finished in their customary 4th position.

What a moving tribute in the Footy Budget to the Westminster player who passed away over Easter. Well done to Rob Hayes for penning such a marvellous homage to his mate. Deepest sympathies out to WOS and Luke's family and friends. It truly makes you realise what the important things in life really are....

North Haven are looking for a Div 8 Reserve umpire, starting ASAP.

Private message me if you are interested or know someone that is and I will let you know the pay etc.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet
