Yes, played for Central District in the late 80's early 90's, may of played for Salisbury North aswell, he played footy out there.

Yes, Shane's my cousin so i used to watch him play a bit when i was a kid. Massive unit who hit a very long ball as well. Fair footy player too.

We were appalling, Secca's bowled well but we batted shit, Units couldn't of asked for a better opportunity to get maximum points by bowling first and the Gardens were defiant and hung around all day thanks to Bazza who would have to be the most boring batsman to grace the PDCA, 39 off 56 overs, I can believe it.
The Goats on the other hand would've gone in rather pleased with themselves after dismissing Westies for 156, to be 4/18 off 17 at stumps would not have been what they were after.

Although the finals race has been run, it's still pretty much game on to stay in Grade 1 for 3 clubs.

I remember playing against Salisbury West at Salisbury West batting with Baz trying to chase down Westies 300 odd, we certainly batted slowly for a while that day. Hes a determined fella when he gets his back up and i think he has had enough of the poor effort of some of his team mates so he is leading from the front for the end of the year in showing his team mates how to grit it out and spend some time at the crease. Maybe they can learn a thing or two.

Will never forget the westies players snoring and asking for pillows while Baz was on strike, funny stuff

div 1 had the likes of Jonesy, Thomas, Lairdy, at Centrals, North, McInness, Oz at SW, SN had O'Brien, Johnston, Jossy, OTH had Heinrich, Armitt, Danny Stevens.

then clubs like that floated in between divs like Smithfield had Col, Leg, Craigmore had Moore, Carmen, Oliver what a trio, EP had the likes of Steve Warren, Mobbs, Willow, a young Kenny Mac, Benny Hancock, South Gawler had Bevis (he was probably the quickest i faced ) even in div 3 and 4 you had Willaston with Troy Bennie (scariest bowler i have faced) Fields had Scotty Donaldson, Donger, we had Robby Latrobe in our b grade. Other blokes like Jason Hull were floating in between clubs and young blokes such as Chrissy McLean, Kev Thomas, Rocco, Chris Hughes, Willy were all bursting into senior cricket.

GOOD TIMES!!!!

in my mullet times in the early to mid 90s.. we at central united had Paul Bishop, Ian Brown, Ray walloscheck all unplayable on their day, playing against Graham Heys, Lightning mcqueen, daniel oliver, OB , John Robbins, Glen North, mark Dejong in those days there was no 1 bouncer rule.. i swear i used to get 3-4 every over.. it wasnt always fun...

Played against OTH C grade, one guy was defending before you even released the ball. Once against our B grade he batted the last 10 overs on day 1, was still not out with around 2 overs to go in the match and asked how many for his 50. He'd scored 40 off 80 overs or so in a losing cause.

Couple years back units chasing salisbury norths div 10 total of 400 odd on paralowie oval. mullet, johnny oxford and young happy jones all blasted hundreds (jones dad giving him not out lbw 2nd ball, hit his back foot dead on middle stump). Units with no chance of securing victory, captain ian ritzema instructed 13y.o opening batter daniel thomas to "fry these mother effers". young daniel carried his bat through the whole innings (70 overs) for 24no. after being dropped early doors in the slips by mullet. 8 of that 24 was 2 french cuts for 4... well played young son. units ended up 3/150odd and SN had bowled all their over by 4pm.

Back in that era you were lucky if you faced one ball an over that wasn't a bouncer.
Dave Verity of OTH was about that circa aswell, left armer, pretty sharp.

by the sounds of it that would be Eric Dissenger. i remember back a few years ago against wasleys we were chasin 400+. Eric opened and ended the day, 70 overs later not out on 28. would be one of the most frustrating guys to bowl at. that day they had no leg side fielders to eric and were bowling half trackers in a hope he would play a shot. he didnt. the fielders were hating it. i think we ended the day around 6 for 150ish.

That's him. I loved bowling to him. You just knew so long as you got it somewhere near a good line and length he wasn't going to score anything unless he got an edge through slips. Just keep that up until he's batted his side out of the game.

They seem happy enough to me, Jamie's batting higher than he ever has and opening the bowling, Nick's opening the batting.

Grade 2 boasts a couple of huge games as far as the finals make up is concerned.

Craigmore: Have Riverside 2/20 chasing 194, would want a win to get back on track.
Parkers: Chasing the Units' 214, will lose 2nd spot if they fail.
ATCO: Defending 7/314 against Sal. Nth.
Riverside: 2/20 chasing Craigmore's 194, will slip out of the 4 if they lose and have to play Westies in the last round.
Westies: 2/85 in reply to OTH's 125, an outright should see them secure a finals berth.
Units: Defending 214 against Eastern Park, a win will keep them in touch with the 4 and they play Sal. Nth in round 14.

Grade 3.

Angle Vale: Minor Premiership is safe, 1/56 chasing ATCO's 138.
ATCO: Could slip to 4th if Rosies get up comfortably and Smitty win outright. Plays Gardens in round 14.
Rosies: 2/56 chasing Gardens' 203, need to win as they play Vale in round 14.
Smitty: 6/223 in reply to Virginia's 57. Could finish 2nd with an ouright win and a win against Craigmore in round 14.
Craigmore: Have no idea how they are going against Nth Pines, have to win to keep in touch with the 4.

Grade 4.

Eastern Park & Elizabeth East are head and shoulders above the rest, Westies could easily steal 3rd spot and the loser of the round 14 clash between Teachers and Two Wells will miss out.

Grade 5

Units, Vale and Rosies all safe now, Pines, Smitty and Riverside to fight out the last spot in the 4, Smitty has ATCO in round 14, Pines and Riverside play each other.

Not 100% sure but I was given scores off Craigmore all out 175 V Nth Pines 6/167.
Went down and watched a bit Nth Pines had Craigmore 6/60 odd I think it was. So could have been worse for Craigmore. Nth Pines let Craigmores lower order get away from them in the end. Kodi Ross is on 98 at close off play.
