Moths in the pantry ... faarking hard to get rid of the bastards, unless you detonate a nuclear device in there.

We had a plague of those pantry moths recently. Was killing upwards of half a dozen of the phockers every night. Though they didnt seem to have gotten into the pantry. We think they were brought into the house in a batch of dry guinea pig food. ANYHOO: Got some pantry moth traps from the supermarket. These things are basically strips of flypaper which you fold into a pyramid, and you stick a little plastic square (treated with moth pheromones) in the middle. What happens is every male moth in a 5 metre radius get the scent of hot female and makes a beeline for the trap, ready for some Hot Moth Love Action - only to get stuck on the flypaper. With the males taken out of circulation, the females got no studs to breed with, and the population eventually dies off. These things work a treat. Must've caught two to three dozen moths within 10 days, and haven't seen random moths flying around the house since.

ta ... we think they got a hold in there from flour or similar which had eggs when we bought them.

Have cleaned out the whole pantry and thrown lots of stuff out (our pantry is huge). The little bastards lay eggs everywhere and even can get inside sealed containers. ~x(

Oh, and gefugged MT ... b-(

I usually see a muscular therapist, but cant see him until Wednesday 3pm. Somehow though, I think this is more structural than muscular.

Got in* for a 10:30 this morning.

I slipped a disc before Christmas and haven't quite got over it yet ... I've had nearly 4 weeks off during that time and could hardly do anything, and right on cue, back to work today and it's feeling fine.

gives me the shits that there are people in the world that would break into your house, while you are home, and nick stuff.

wednesday night the wife came home from work with some very bad news. her brother happened to be staying the night with us (that wasnt the bad news btw) and while the three of us sat in the lounge discussing the news some low life broke in to the front bedroom of my house.

unfortunately we didnt hear a thing (had the front window open to take advantage of the cool breeze, they cut the fly screen...) and they made off with my wallet, work ID etc. my 2 and a half year old was asleep in the very next room. thankfully she has no idea it happened or we would probably have her nightmares to deal with as well.

I then had to spend most of my australia day morning cancelling all my cards etc (which was too late as the scum had already used my card, but i didnt realise it had happened until the morning) and then friday going to the banks, rego office etc to order replacements. all so they could nick ten bucks in change out of the pocket of the pants they stole, and a grand total of $48.24 off my card. ill get the money from the card back, but i wont get my time back.

thankfully the theives dont seem very smart, it seems they went to my local servo so there will be cctv of them, and i presume from the total they spent that they put petrol in so the police should have a rego number (if it isnt stolen...) now i just need to convince the police to bring the low life (or low lifes) back around to my place for 15 minutes or so when they find them  , hang on, i mean so they can apologise ;)

The timing is uncanny!

Beat the heat but don't neglect home security

While leaving windows and doors open during the hot weather for a cool evening breeze sounds like a good idea, home owners are reminded to keep screen doors and windows locked at all times.

During the hot weather a lot of residents often neglect or trade external home security during the evenings and night for a chance to cool down the house.

Unfortunately there are people who will take advantage of the hot weather and break into homes via open doors and windows.

So a reminder to everyone, if you leave a front or back door open at night, make sure you lock your security or screen doors.

The same goes for windows.

Lock them into place so they can't be opened any further.

Let the cool air in but not the thieves!

EDIT: BTW, sorry to hear you were one of the targets. Would certainly give you the sh!ts.
Right in front of me. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!
