wednesday night the wife came home from work with some very bad news. her brother happened to be staying the night with us (that wasnt the bad news btw) and while the three of us sat in the lounge discussing the news some low life broke in to the front bedroom of my house.
unfortunately we didnt hear a thing (had the front window open to take advantage of the cool breeze, they cut the fly screen...) and they made off with my wallet, work ID etc. my 2 and a half year old was asleep in the very next room. thankfully she has no idea it happened or we would probably have her nightmares to deal with as well.
I then had to spend most of my australia day morning cancelling all my cards etc (which was too late as the scum had already used my card, but i didnt realise it had happened until the morning) and then friday going to the banks, rego office etc to order replacements. all so they could nick ten bucks in change out of the pocket of the pants they stole, and a grand total of $48.24 off my card. ill get the money from the card back, but i wont get my time back.
thankfully the theives dont seem very smart, it seems they went to my local servo so there will be cctv of them, and i presume from the total they spent that they put petrol in so the police should have a rego number (if it isnt stolen...) now i just need to convince the police to bring the low life (or low lifes) back around to my place for 15 minutes or so when they find them, hang on, i mean so they can apologise
