Did NT get a gig on its own merit this year? Or does it continue to get a gig because it is the AFL's pet project?

LOL. Considering they're the best team in the ACT, NSW, Qld and NT outside of the AFL I think we can safely say they got in by merit!

Bzzt wrong

Original format only had two QAFL sides in, Tony Frawley then jumped up and down and said we are a special case and we want in. Grey Morris wrote about it in November 2010 in tata great peer reviewed tome, the NT News. Grey, as only he can, lauded Tony for standing up for NT rights and ensuring that they were part of the Foxtel Cup, they only came 5th in the QAFL in 2010.

This year they definately earned a spot, well "earned" with respect to a competition that would best be described as Victorian Amateurs Div 1 Standard.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Looks like 3 decent games in the first round. It'll prevent a repeat of last years farcical first round, but also means all three SA teams could potentially be knocked out in the first round.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

My mistake. I thought they got beaten into 2nd or 3rd that year. :|

So Port v Subiaco is a curtain raiser for the Crows v Western Bulldogs game.
Might draw 500 people there

No its not but would have thought it would be good for Port to play before their one club brothers.
Does the AFL or Foxtel foot the bill for opening AAMI early and paying staff? would have thought the bigger the crowd the better.
