A bit shocked it's given out TBH. Looked like another of those too close to call decisions.

Hughes technique flaws means he will never succed on a pitch which is offering alot for the bowlers.

Needs to go.

Huge technique issues and he cannot play the pull. What opening batsman can't pull? They can bowl short time and time again and dry up his scoring, and then mix in the odd ball that hits the deck hard and slightly moves away. Hughes follows it and is caught at slip.

If Hughes is gone they will replace him with another New South Welshman anyway..........................................David Warner!

That was out. The catch was taken.

The only controversy about the Hughes dismissal should be about why he is there in the first place. Can anyone tell me they wouldn't be more confident with Katich opening the batting? Dare i say it but Hughes isn't even the best opening batsman from his state. He's behind Watson, Katich, Jaques, Maddinson and even Warner. Why the hell is this bloke playing Test cricket?

A tad harsh on Hughes there.

Is averaging 50.16 at first class level and has hit 17 hundreds within 62 games.

Is this showing signs of players playing to much T20/50 over cricket heading into test series.

Whatever happened to the grinding 50 of 120 balls.

If i'm being harsh on Hughes what have the selectors done to Katich? Also to Jaques? Average of 47.47 with 3 hundreds and 6 fifties in 11 tests. None of the players i mentioned (even Warner) have such obvious technical flaws that are so easily exploited as what Hughes has. Hughes has a good eye but you need more than that at Test level. I also only mentioned NSW players. Chris Rogers is sitting at home shaking his head wondering if he had blonde tips, a couple of diamond earrings and unjustified arrogance, how far he could have gone.

Are you for real pal
I will tell you why this bloke is playing Test Cricket
The selectors keep picking him !

Ive been watching Australia play for many years in Tests
Technique wise Hughes is about the worst batsman Ive seen open the batting for Australia
He is mentally shot
He was run machine for a while
But after a great start he has become next to useless

This game is crazy AUS 4/13 Hussey GOLDEN DUCK

Katich is unlucky but age clearly wasnt on his side and you can only carry so many over 30's in the one side especially when your not having immediate success.

Jaques might want to string more than one game in a row before he is considered for selection.

Dont belive the selectors can be critised for given a bloke who averages over 50 at first class level the oppurtunity at test level.

He has been given his chance he has failed it is now time for him to go imho.
