Don't take the gloss off SHOC's win. You lost to SHOC's 'E' grade!

A Div 1 finallist teams "E" grade beating a (now) Div 4 teams D grade... sounds about right, doesn't it?

jolly kicked 3 goals himself in the first term, i think gg only kicked 3 as a team after that??
gg prob got out run after that... we still had our chances to win the game. just didnt capitolize
not blaming the umpires.. but some of their decisions....i dont know how they got their licence.
well done to SHOC tho and all the best for the GF.

I think jugs may have got his car scratched at the Village one saturday night years back and has never gotten over it, he takes pride in anything that doesnt go to plan for GGFC, only ever jumps on and takes swipes and never really backs anything up with anything constructive. Personally I think that it does sound about right. As Port Boy noted there was a few guys that played for SHOC that dropped back for the game and they hurt us, now, they may have been there for legitimate reasons who knows? Would love for a side that drops players back during the free interchange in the finals come out and say that they did it to win, nothing more, nothing less! Instead all clubs ever say is they are coming back from injury or they were dropped etc. In all honesty I think SHOC did drop these players back to help them get over the line, maybe just getting thier E grade into a GF in thier first year was enough for them because if those guys go back up then they will get belted next week. They played within the rules and I cant fault them on it, I just think that they need to review the rule, I can not see how it is fair that this can even happen. In all honesty, I could not see GGFC doing it. We had the opportunity last year when our B grade had the week off when they went straight into the GF and we chose the get through with our side we had used all year.

They were too fast for us, if you read my earlier post you would see that I said SHOC were quicker all over the ground, not just these guys. I am not having a go at SHOC at all, I think that the rule is dumb. If we got through this week we would have to go into the GF short on numbers, that is the way it is in the D grade, you shouldnt be allowed to pull players down grades to fill these spots regardless of where the are sitting. You should still have to name a side at the very least.

Yes unfortunately they are the rules. Another rule shoc copped on the chin on the weekend was playing our B grade away at gaza when we finished top and them 4th. They are the rules unfortuately, like it or lump it. The lower grades always get the raw end of the stick, the rules are based around the A grades, and deservedly so.
