That easy enough for you to comprehend mate ?
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Injuries took their toll during the day and if we had of won we would have been taking in a depleted team against flinders park and would have got smashed.

Yes that was very easy to comprehend,I'd had a few to drink when i wrote my post so thats why it sounded abit blunt.I didnt want to upset all you Golden Grove people, dont know you guys and anyone from the club,it was just a question and when i seen your d's beat Flinders Parks d's early in the year i thought you'd be playing in the grand final.Being saturday night the paper wasnt out yet
Also good luck to Flinders in the big 1 this week

Yep another year. As FR said the season just got that little bit long for us and we just limped through to the end of the game. SHOC were too quick for us and in the end we were not fit enough. If they go in next week with that exact side then it should be a decent game, this time I did look and there were 4 guys that played in their D grade last week that played against us and two of them kicked 6 between them so on form they should go back up. That is not me making an excuse because SHOC were pretty good all around the ground, we were not good enough, simple. I tell you what though D grade footy now days is definitively not like the old days, sides in this grade were actually fit and I think that in the end that is what cost us, we would have been smashed by FP next week if we had got through! I have said all along that they were the best side in the comp and they will prove that next week.

Its not me you should feel sorry for, I am only 21, plenty of time to try and win a premiership. You should feel sorry for the older blokes who will not play on next year and gave our club 10-15 years service without winning a premiership or even playing in a grand final.

Don't take the gloss off SHOC's win. You lost to SHOC's 'E' grade!

Of the guys that we aparantly "stacked" our D grade side with how many do you think lasted the entire season? If we had won saturday we would not have been able to put a full side on the park. We had 7 guys on the bench at the end of the game that could not go back on, and there was a few left out on the field that are needing the break now. Make no mistake a2m, we were a D grade side. Granted some of us could have possibly played C grade, myself included. In the end I couldnt even make it through to the end of the year.

A Div 1 finallist teams "E" grade beating a (now) Div 4 teams D grade... sounds about right, doesn't it?

jolly getting injured in the second term cost GG big time, lost all its run and drive from the middle.
jolly kicked 3 goals himself in the first term, i think gg only kicked 3 as a team after that??

gg prob got out run after that... we still had our chances to win the game. just didnt capitolize

not blaming the umpires.. but some of their decisions....i dont know how they got their licence.

well done to SHOC tho and all the best for the GF.

I think jugs may have got his car scratched at the Village one saturday night years back and has never gotten over it, he takes pride in anything that doesnt go to plan for GGFC, only ever jumps on and takes swipes and never really backs anything up with anything constructive. Personally I think that it does sound about right. As Port Boy noted there was a few guys that played for SHOC that dropped back for the game and they hurt us, now, they may have been there for legitimate reasons who knows? Would love for a side that drops players back during the free interchange in the finals come out and say that they did it to win, nothing more, nothing less! Instead all clubs ever say is they are coming back from injury or they were dropped etc. In all honesty I think SHOC did drop these players back to help them get over the line, maybe just getting thier E grade into a GF in thier first year was enough for them because if those guys go back up then they will get belted next week. They played within the rules and I cant fault them on it, I just think that they need to review the rule, I can not see how it is fair that this can even happen. In all honesty, I could not see GGFC doing it. We had the opportunity last year when our B grade had the week off when they went straight into the GF and we chose the get through with our side we had used all year.

I thought the umpiring was terrible! I personally got a kicking in danger given against me when I kicked the ball off the ground, there was not one player near by, the player who got the free I kicked the ball off the ground to him about a meter away. Losing Jolly hurt us for sure. Marshy did his hammy in the 2nd but kept on playing but could not really move either.

Whinging about 3 18 yr olds that helped out with numbers this week that played D grade the week before is a bit rich........

Exactly my point, they were not SHOC's worst players from thier D grade, not whinging at all. They deffinately helped them get over the line. They were too fast for us, if you read my earlier post you would see that I said SHOC were quicker all over the ground, not just these guys. I am not having a go at SHOC at all, I think that the rule is dumb. If we got through this week we would have to go into the GF short on numbers, that is the way it is in the D grade, you shouldnt be allowed to pull players down grades to fill these spots regardless of where the are sitting. You should still have to name a side at the very least.

Yes unfortunately they are the rules. Another rule shoc copped on the chin on the weekend was playing our B grade away at gaza when we finished top and them 4th. They are the rules unfortuately, like it or lump it. The lower grades always get the raw end of the stick, the rules are based around the A grades, and deservedly so.

How is that anyway near the same? I assume you were playing in the 2nd semi which Gaza had the home final in the A grade, the B grade 2nd semi will always be played at the same ground. You won anyway. Again I am not saying SHOC played outside the rules I personally just dont agree with the rule.
