Not sure how many docs are keen on dishing them out to amateur sportsmen though. Even at SANFL level they often steer clear of them.

Not just oral use though - the medical literature supports the idea that these effects occur whatever way it gets into the system.Side-effects: Oral use of cortisone has a number of potential side-effects: hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, anxiety, depression, amenorrhoea, cataracts and glaucoma, among other problems
