I don't think there is a specific rule for this situation but there is a precident in that Central got Stuart Cochrane qualified for SANFL finals in the mid 2000's where he was in a similar scenario to Rodan. From memory, Stuart only played 2 games (back then the required game tally was 3) and he was a travelling emergency one week and left on the standbye the next, not to play any football at all until being permitted by the league to participate in Central's finals campaign.
Like with all players qualified, they still need permission granted to play by their respective AFL clubs. The Rodan scenario is an interesting one as he has had the 2nd LARS surgery on the knee and hasn't really dominated a game since then, so perhaps the Power will want him to not risk it and get the mind and body right for a full pre-season over the summer? Who knows, but time will tell.
