Good game on Saturday against SPOC in the A's. Bit of a thriller as the lead changed a few times in the last qauter. Umpires werent too bad, did make some baffling decisions.

But i must comment on SPOCs B grade umpire. Not only blantant cheating but total disregard for opposition players welfare. Our FF took a mark and was then jump into from the front by a SPOC player who put both fore-arms into his head. Late, high contact and he did nothing. And he was right there at the contest. It took our umpire to come over and have a bit of a conversation to the guy and then a 25m penalty was awarded and the SPOC player was sent off - by our umpire. SPOC really need to have a think about this guy who obviously doesnt care if oppositions players get belted.

Anyway, massive round this week with the top 5 still not set in stone

Not sure we're talking about the same umpire. The one we had was a short, fat, old guy. Didnt look like a man who would be out "late in the night" to me.

If its the same umpire as previous years. its a disgrace. should not be umpiring. makes spoc look bad. spoken to mates who play for spoc and they agree. something has to be done???
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

That sounds like him. I didnt stick around for a drink with the old guy so cant comment on what he's like after a few pints. But he is a shocking umpire

Suri, hows Walkies oval atm? You are lucky its not at MFC this week  The juniors on saturday ripped it to shreds! Oval had been in good nick this year considering the amount of traffic it gets on it.

Checked it out today and its not looking good. Doesnt help when we have an oval full of kids doing soccer training on it every Monday. Expect a very muddy affair on Sat FS.

FS, had a look at the home of footy today after a message from junior boss. It has been a while since I have seen it that bad. Entire oval had 3 to 4 inches of water on it. I know Jim has cancelled most of junior training this week, but can't see it recovering anytime soon, especially with the forecast rain tomorrow. Also had a look at Hope Valley, GG and TTG, would you believe HV was the best of all, by a fair way.

Was showing signs of wear on Saturday FS, notice the runner had difficutly covering the ground at any great pace, half inch on Sunday morning with a full round of juniors and hey presto, we have lots of mud. From what Suri has said, look forward to the mud wrestling on Saturday.

The runner was spinning his wheels in the mud, rookie error leaving the boots at home! Thankfully the better half went and got them by qtr time

I had to umpire there on Saturday evening, couldn't even find the centre circle, ended up getting them to do a new one right next to the wing, it was the only bit of ground in centre square not mauled by mud.

Ok, we have established that our oval isnt holding up well in the wet. Which really isnt that much of a surprise.

Lets move onto the games this week.

Can Iggies knock over SPOC and keep 5th spot? Might be a hard task considering SPOC would be hurting after the 2 pt loss last week and PAOC in 6th are playing Athelstone and could leap frog Iggies into the 5.
PD and Uni is another crucial game for both clubs. Uni win and could keep the double chance. PD win and they could make the 5.

With the wet weather settling in, i think it will make all games close ones this weekend.

i reckon the Iggies SPOC game being played at iggies is actually an advantage to SPOC because their ground is Forked!
will be interesting to see if Frinsdorf is back this weekend to try and help the cause.

Hunter park wouldnt be much better then Caterer oval. SPOC should win, and i reckon PD will get up over Uni to give themselves a chance at making the finals.

Stringer has dominated in the ruck for us. Madden at CHB has had a great year too. And how could you forget Baby Face Fromm?
