I read it that way too. Typically none of the other posters on this site wanted to touch your question. Too busy screeching against the AFL and Rucci.

Of course Collingwood and Gellong's focus is on the League side being at the pointy end of the ladder. Just as Norwood or Centrals wouldn't care too much about their Reserves sides being bottom if their League teams were top.

"A grade" flags is where its at...if you happen to snare a seconds flag its a bonus.

I think having reserves teams playing for NO points is a joke. it better not be spoken about for our two afl sides because it will get hounded down mercilessly...as it should!!!

It is looking more and more likely the SANFL will be completely separate from the AFL. Especially with a new coach at the Crows next year who may have a differing opinion to Neil Craig.

Possibly the best thing to happen will be the Crows and Power join the AFL Reserves comp in Melbourne and all AFL players are removed from the SANFL competition. I would then guess we'd have 8 teams (less Port Magpies unfortunately).

What happens to those historic VFA clubs in Victoria or to the WAFL competition is not really our problem I s'pose.

For the SANFL to remain a competition worth following, all league clubs number one goal must be to win the premiership.

You're talking about a club who only cares about themselves. These are the sorts of things Carlton are proud of, not ashamed.

It's glaringly obvious that it's time the AFL spent money on a national reserves competition, this way they can trial their "conference" idea, sorry Rucci's idea and have a southern and northern conference for reserves teams somewhat limiting travel costs. At the same time it will leave the WAFL, SANFL and VFL (if they want), to please themselves. However it's also obvious that the AFL know that too many AFL clubs are on the bones of their arses and can't afford reserves teams and expect the State leagues to wear the burdens.

There is more to the sport than just the elite level. The sport of "Aussie Rules" that is, not "AFL" as the league would like us to call it.

This option will only further weaken the SANFL as where do you think the top up players for the AFL reserves comp will come from? Any player with even the slightest aspirations of being drafted will want to play for the AFL reserves side as this will get them the most exposure to AFL coaches and scouts.
So we'll be left with all the leftover duds.

Chances are the Bullants would fold if it wasn't for the financial help the Blues give 'em. How are Sandringhams finances with out St Kildas cash?

Agree Voice but to me it's the lesser of two evils.

Chances are a lot of Thai girls would starve if it wasn't for the business put their way by relatively rich middle aged Western men.

This is what Preston has reduced itself to. It is the football equivalent of an underage Thai hooker, completely dependent upon money from the rich for survival, and prepared to abase itself to a level of deep depravity to gain this money.

To complete the analogy one would cast Carlton in the role of the sex tourist. Fully expecting that its money can buy whatever behaviour it needs to satisfy its foul desires, and hang the consequences.

Better include the other AFL clubs from Vic in there too, and that way you can make it a gang bang.....

After all they're all screwing their own affiliated teams in one way or another.....
