You're talking about a club who only cares about themselves. These are the sorts of things Carlton are proud of, not ashamed.

I read it that way too. Typically none of the other posters on this site wanted to touch your question. Too busy screeching against the AFL and Rucci.
Of course Collingwood and Gellong's focus is on the League side being at the pointy end of the ladder. Just as Norwood or Centrals wouldn't care too much about their Reserves sides being bottom if their League teams were top.

At the same time it will leave the WAFL, SANFL and VFL (if they want), to please themselves. However it's also obvious that the AFL know that too many AFL clubs are on the bones of their arses and can't afford reserves teams and expect the State leagues to wear the burdens.

What's that got to do with anything. Just coz I follow the saints doesn't mean I want vfl clubs to die!

This option will only further weaken the SANFL as where do you think the top up players for the AFL reserves comp will come from? Any player with even the slightest aspirations of being drafted will want to play for the AFL reserves side as this will get them the most exposure to AFL coaches and scouts.
So we'll be left with all the leftover duds.

Move to the VFA as Fitzroy have done perhaps?
