Would've been nice to have a chat mate. Dutchy's goal was all ass, couldn't do it again in his life if he tried. The man doesn't even wear football socks...![]()
Pag wrote: Today's game against Flinders Uni was the most I'd had playing footy since I was 10. Everyone was lined up in positions when they had another player rock up, watched this bloke run on and give me a little love-tap. Happened to be Dogwatcher. He got me later on too, probably should've been holding the ball while he was there. Spent 90% of the game across half-back laughing and sledging. Good times.

You're pretty much spot on from that.
To be honest I didn't see much of the division one or two games. Spent the days watching the division three games.
Briefly saw Loxton North v Walkerville. North look like a young side, full of run. A fit Michael Arnold will help them immensely through the season. Their second ruckman wasn't there on the day (cricket final).
As I don't really know much about Gaza, Walkerville and Blackwood, I can't say too much for them.
Gaza did totally outclass Blackwood - they'd want to really after having a 9.30 curfew!
Loxton defeated Blackwood 2 by about a goal. Loxton played nowhere near its full strength side and had a five or six goal lead at half time. Kruger took himself off and things changed, the Woods came back.
Loxton a very young side. Apparently they had some recruits from Adelaide for the Saturday games - but I don't know too much about them.
A player to watch this year for Loxton will be Rhys Mitchell.
From division three - I can say that Salisbury and Blackfriars will have very good years. Look well drilled and young and full of run. Neither was playing at full strength.

Cheers. Were lookin for a hard game out of them to get us off flying into the season. We dont expect to win but we will be more competitive than Flinders. hahahaDogwatcher wrote:lizbeff eaglez wrote:What number do u wear Pag? Have to say gday when we play in 2 weeks. How do u think we wil go DW?
Lizzy, I'd reckon they'd roll you. No offence, but they should anyway - being a Div 4 side.
You'll need a good full back, and your runners will have to be at full steam all day.
And they run really well from half back.

Nuriootpa pulled out of the carnival after Saturday as they only had 10 fit men.
They came with bare minimum players, but managed to be ultra competitive in the games they played.
Gaza struggled to shake them off.
I think they lost to Blackwood also - with bare minimum players and could have won that with a fully fit side.
They sound like they'll be strong in 2007.
Gaza was the div one winner. Blackwood runner-up
Walkerville won div two. Loxton runner-up
Salisbury div three. Blackfriars runner-up
Carnival organiser said the game between Salisbury and Blackfriars was highlight of carnival for them due to the closeness and standard of the game.

Sprint To Space - you must have been wearing baggy pants and twirling space sticks to think Infinity is one of the best songs you've ever heard. Good mind youIt's actually a song that sadly gets overlooked on most 90s compiles or 90s theme nights. It's perfect for the time though. Can you name the follow up song? Anyway back to footy.
