E-mails have emerged of alleged payments to the police by the News of the World (NoW), triggering fresh calls to investigate the relationship between officers and Rupert Murdoch's newspaper empire.
As each twist and turn of the phone hacking scandal is played out, amid ever more serious claims, pressure mounts on the NoW.

The Guardian claims all child murders and abductions dating back to 2001 are now under investigation by police to see if the victims' families were also targeted.

Mobile phones owned by relatives of UK soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan were allegedly hacked by the News of the World.
The Daily Telegraph claims the phone numbers of relatives of dead service personnel were found in the files of private investigator Glenn Mulcaire.
This comes after Prime Minister David Cameron said he would set up a public inquiry into alleged phone hacking.

Further arrests are reportedly expected over phone-hacking claims within days - as it emerged relatives of killed soldiers could have been targeted.
The Times reports five journalists and newspaper executives have been identified as suspects.
The scandal has hit BSkyB shares, which fell 18p to 827p on the London market on Wednesday as concerns grew over the possible impact it could have on News Corporation's bid for the satellite broadcaster.

The Royal British Legion has dropped the paper as its campaigning partner.
The services charity said it was "shocked to the core" by the claims and was reviewing its advertising budget with the paper's owner News International, which also publishes The Sun and The Times.

Witness statements at the Tommy Sheridan perjury trial are to be probed following new allegations in the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
The Crown Office has asked Strathclyde Police for a "preliminary assessment" and to hand any findings to prosecutors for possible further action.
Those who gave evidence at the trial included Bob Bird, Douglas Wight and former editor Andy Coulson.
Sheridan was jailed for lying during his successful defamation case in 2006.

More than 4,000 potential phone hacking victims have been highlighted by Scotland Yard, detectives leading the investigation have said.
Documents handed over by News International contain almost 4,000 names, with hundreds more coming forward to say they had been targeted.
