It was a Centrals supporter that asked the question, the replies could also bee seen as stick up for Francou rather than bagging Healy

Not even close.
Healy will rate up there with Flynn, Hart and McDermott for the worse coaches of North ever, Francou won't be close.
Don't get me wrong, I was never a Josh Francou fan and copped a bit from fellow North supporters for my attitude of Josh when he was at the Power but I've seen more millions more encouraging signs in the last 3 months than the 2 years when Healy sent us backwards.
Don't get me wrong, Healy was a respectable nice bloke.
Just a terrible coach.
For his sake I hope there's always a "Power" in SA so he can get a job.
Francou made (or didn't make) some moves that didn't impress me today but believe me (in someone that goes most if not every week) we're miles in front of where we were in the last 2 years.
If Healy had kept coaching (and I know this sounds pathetic) I think I would have stopped going to the SANFL, it was revoltingly awful. He should be sued for bringing the game into disrepute.
Healy and Francou are no comparison.
Might as well as compare me as a player to Barrie Robran.

Too keep bagging Healy is just a joke. Keep hearing this "Oh were losing but playing a better style of footy" what a disgraceful comment. How many finals games can be played by losing all year but saying we play a good style! I have nothing against Josh and hope he goes well, but the carry on about all the Healy damage is just a crock.Think the problem at Prospect might be deeper!

With North hitting bottom, was wondering if earlier season assessments on the progression under Francou had changed.
You've all said it's a better style of play, how so?

They actually kick and run the ball forward, not backwards or sideways for a start

Yes it would suck to play a modern style of football wouldn't it. (not saying North did it well) but they had to learn it and were gettting better. How many times does Centrals kick straight down the ground from where the ball just come from?
Keep living in the 80's North, your board is!
Amazing for such a bad coach as you all say, that all the players loved him and wanted him to stay! But you guys would no better than them I suppose.

Jim05 wrote:Cant believe the guys defending Healy, the guy was a dud coach who graduated from the Trevor Hill academy of coaches. North are playing a far better style of football and it does take a while for a new coach to exorcise the demons of a previous poor regime. Bass took nearly a quarter of a season to get the Legs to stop playing a crap style and I reckon Francou is heading in the right direction. Norths recruiters need to lift their game next season and add a couple of key personnel and North will be back amongst the finals

personally i think it is a massive change in mindset. North now seem to want to take the opposition on, they have a go (most weeks anyway) and every game i have seen they have been competitive, and a real chance of winning. (i havent seen every game though)
I actually feel better this season about a loss, than i did last season about a win. so far we are lower on the ladder than last season, but i have more confidence in our side this year than last. they give themselves every opportunity to win, even if it means making some mistakes along the way.
