How would you like to spend your days in court facing the states top Barrister who has defended many high profile cases and is alledgedly doing it for nothing.
All they have done is follow the rules of the RMFL.
If your not happy with those rules , as part of the RMFL , you can change them.
The Community Footy board have had input, however the point of the challenge is to get Ladhams playing footy again. If the case continues , he gets a stay and can play until a result of the hearing which could take months.Point achieved.
If the case is dropped or resolved by a reduction in games, he plays -point achieved.
They have opened a can of worms that can effect every footy comp in Australia.

A, If we were paying a very high priced recruit & coach, that allegedly got his $$ regardless of his playing capacity, I would hope our club would do their best to make sure we weren't flushing it down the toilet too. In many ways the Jervois football club should be commended for being hugely supportive of Chris.
B, I think it is the RMFL who have failed here! Back your tribunal in, dont turn, run & hide at the first sign of a challenge. If my understanding is correct, they actually put it on the other 6 clubs to pay for anything, had they have lostLike another poster has suggested, did they even contact the SANFL or CFB to see what sort of assistance they could have got? Who knows?
The 1 thing I think is lost in all of this is Joel Kay is unable to play for atleast 7 weeks, now has 2 Titanium plates in his Jaw, & a number of screws for the rest of his life
Jake Watts got 3 or 4 (cant remember sorry) for a sling tackle at AFL level, the resultant injury to the player was a bad concussion, Joel Selwood 4 for a broken ear drum. These injuries are vitally important to their commission when handing down sentences. I wonder what someone would get for HIGH CONTACT with the result a broken jaw. These two things are undisputable! They happened, the nature of the contact whether deemed Intentional, Reckless, or accidential, would have a further bearing on the result I would think
Next time I would like to see the RMFL stand up, regarless of cost. Lets be honest, it would survive it!
