Are you saying the RMFL is a Mickey Mouse league? We did have at least 10 of the comps best players unavailable which would change the result quite dramatically.

Mickey Mouse is a little Harsh, but lets not forget- even though we had upwards of 11 players who would make our BEST side, we did play against a side that was only 1/2 as good as it could have been!

Our selection process of the squad is out dated, & needs to be looked at quickly if we are to play Association footy anymore.

I think the result against the Southern League is a fair reflection of the two leagues. This is a very powerful league and there were at least 5 State country players in their team. Very few leagues besides Great Southern would get closer to Southern than the margin they defeated the RMFL by. Calling us a Mickey Mouse League is simply inaccurate.

I dont think anyone should be MADE TO PLAY in these games, but it is interesting to think that about a team of Unavailables! Would have easily accounted for the team we sent IMO.

Forward: Girardi Kennedy Ladhams

1/2 F: Viney Benbow Austin

Centre McDonnell Hall Hodge

1/2 B: Cunneen Coulter Braun

Back: Weyland ????? Eckermann

1st: Bowen, White, Brunoli

Inter: Girdham, Bartlett,

The problem is most of the guns are imports who dont want to play. They have no sense of duty to uphold the RMFL's honour. They (and their clubs) simply dont want to get injured which may cost them dollars and affect their finals chances.I have no idea what the answer is , perhaps its time we just give it a miss. We just dont have the depth of the other league's.

Moving on, looking forward to this weeks games. Tailem Bend FC are having an Indigenous Round where they are announcing their Indigenous Team of the Century. Some truly great names from across the years will be acknowledged. A great concept by the club.

Thats a fantastic concept Big Fulla, the TBFC has been very lucky with indigenous players over the years. Will be interesting to see some of the names listed, I imagine it will include Don Tschuna, Kev Krop Snr, Muffy, Roger Wilson, Noel Hartman, plus a heap more.

Word around town here is both players were fit and avaliable to play, obviously the RMFL selectors didnt rate them in the best 22

The RMFL has just been playing GSFL for years and hasnt been able to beat them so so how does it think it can compete with the strength of the SFL . Even if the all leagues could put there best sides out the RMFL would not be able to compete . Its a joke in country football that a league with 7teams has final 5

????? Why is it a joke????? Ridiculous statement. The current finals model is fine. And as is the case this year, the gap between 1st and 7th is not as significant as what it may have been in previous years. The competition is healthy.

With the proposed growth to Murray Bridge there will more than likely be the inclusion of a new club to meet demand but until then current RMFL Committee and Clubs should continue to work hard to develop a standard which brings people through the gates. The standard in 2011 so far has been quite exciting and positive.

Last year Mypolonga played in the finals as the 5th seed with a 6-10 win loss. A team that cant even win HALF its games is rewarded with finals. Must feel really special that those lads EARNT a spot in the finals with 6 wins.

When and IF thats a very big IF considering M/B had 3 teams and couldnt sustain that another club comes in then a final 5 may be more acceptable.

No reason why they cant drop it to 4 for now and then raise it again IF they succeed in bringing more clubs.

My point exactly, last year. In any organisation their must be a framework, this is the right framework. I'd rather quality than quantity. It shouldn't decline from this point going forward.

Not really understanding you Big Fulla. THIS YEAR for example at the half way mark Mypo are again in 5th position and and again on track to a 6-10 mark. If youd rather quality then surely a top four would create a better quality come finals time instead of the token 5th side to create an extra couple of games for revenue.

The league has been declining for years now, im not sure its going to recover quite so quickly.

7 teams should be top 4. Maybe the current format is a revenue thing? Extra weekend of bigger crowds.
