fine performance by BOS on saturday. midfielder went down KO'd from a smother in the first 5 minutes of the game so left the bench with only 2 for the day. lead by about 30 points late in the third and glenunga kicked the next 5 to be 3 pts down about 5 minutes into the last quarter. great composure shown after that by the lads to then kick away again.

glenunga are big and powerful in the air if given the opportunity and when they got their running game going they looked very good.

They were good, probably the first '4 quarter game' they've put together in a while. Can only get better if they have a decent run with injuries during the back nine.

As much as CLG were good, we were equally poor. All the things we did well against Trinity OS were missing from the game yesterday. Lacked a willingness to run and work to contests, refused to handball backwards to the free man or to outside runners, and I hardly saw a shepherd all day.

reminded me a bit of round 17 last year Q, when you boys just didnt turn up to play. you're obviously a better side than that and im sure you'll bounce back after the break.

was very happy with the way our lads played though, great to get a win in front of the biggest home crowd we've had in a while. hopefully it gives us some confidence coming into the second half of the year.

Comes with the territory of having a young side I suppose. Six lads under 20 and probably another ten under 25, there's always going to be some up and down performances. They also feed off the performances of the older players, so when blokes like myself, our VC Chris Taylor and midfielders like Ballatori are playing like rubbish, the effect is two-fold.

hope the lad in his 100th wasn't hurt too bad- tibia/fibula?

he has a broken fibula, possible ligament damage in his ankle but will find out at end of week after a visit to the doc. Hopefully its just the leg and he can get himself up and running again come finals time as he is an important player in our forward half.

After seeing all teams in the division now i think finals are going to be very exciting as there really isn't too much difference between the top 5 sides. Kenilworth are the benchmark team but i dont think they are that much better then TOS, Glenunga, CU or BOS, they are certainly no West Croydon or Lockleys from last year who were dominant all season.

With Trinity , I think the A grade will take alot of belief out of the game against Kenilworth as they were severely undermanned and that was easily our weakest side of the season. We were missing our top 5 players, with our 3 best followers out. No Peters at CHB or Matthews at CHF, both are very influential players and make a huge difference for us. Once we get our best 21 back on the field im confident we can knock off anyone come finals time. Hopefully we can win enough games to finish top 3 and go that extra step come september. It is footy though and anything can happen until then........ although i hope it pans out that way :D

Two corker games out at Trinity, their B's jumping away to a half time lead and strong enough to hand our boys their first loss of the year and a neck and neck game all day in the A's falling our way. Could have gone the other way with a point sailing through on the siren. Both games played in good spirits at high pressure, thanks to the TOS boys- hope the lad in his 100th wasn't hurt too bad- tibia/fibula?[/quote]

Have to agree. 2 ripper games. B grade got out to a 7-1 lead at half time before Kenilworth came back at us hard in the 3rd and then the lead changed a couple times in the last. Found it quite humorous when one of the Kenilworth players at the canteen afterwards mentioned how disappointed he was that his plans of playing in an undefeated premiership team were now gone. I know this would not be the attitude of others at Kenilworth but sounded like someone got a bit ahead of himself considering it was round 9.

A grade was a great game. See-sawed all day long. Was glad the boys responded after a really pathetic performance against Houghton the week before. A couple of 'almost' chances in the last few minutes just didn't quite go our way. A clearance from the boundary throw in in our fwd area resulted in hitting the post and a mark not payed in the last few seconds because of it being less than 15m caused a little controversy.

Hopefully some of our better players get back soon. Still missing 4 of our 5 leadership(Rogers, Gagliardi, Peters, Battersby), playing assistant coach (Mathews), last years B & F winner (Nourse), our CHF Michael Zorich and the last 3 years leading goalkicker (Spurr). Certainly no excuse for our wayward performances of late - this has clearly been because of lack of competitiveness from the 21 taking the field.

Siciliano who played his 100th broke his fibula just after half time. Should be back in 8-10 hopefully.

Is he comin back Tos? Or do I have the wrong guy or something?

And good effort on getting close to the Kookas with half your side out!

That's him unfortunately. Probably no need to mention him in my last post since he has now left. Still a big loss anyhow.

Sounds very similar to me in '06, snapped fibula and dislocated ankle from tibia.. I did that the game before a GF and was back without alot of worry for the following preseason with a cutlery set in the leg, still aches but have never reinjured.. Best of luck to him.

Okay zed, bit of discussion needed.

Now that everyone has played each other, things are a little clearer, so do we have any predictions on how the ladder will end up at the end of the minor round?

Current Ladder

Team Gms W D L For Agst Pts %
Kenilworth 9 8 0 1 1110 589 16 65.3%
Glenunga 9 7 0 2 988 862 14 53.4%
Blackfriars OS 9 6 0 3 903 756 12 54.4%
Central United 9 5 1 3 973 787 11 55.3%
Trinity OS 9 5 0 4 765 669 10 53.3%
Ingle Farm 9 3 1 5 801 855 7 48.4%
Adelaide University 9 3 0 6 715 815 6 46.7%
Colonel Light Garden 9 3 0 6 815 976 6 45.5%
Houghton Districts 9 3 0 6 667 1095 6 37.9%
Henley 9 1 0 8 563 896 2 38.6%

Tough question Q! A very even comp where most teams are capable of winning on their day.

Kenilworth
Glenunga
Trinity - 3rd to 5th could be in any particular order (not much between them - Trinity the most inconsistent of these teams)
Blackfriars
Central United

Adelaide Uni
Col Light - if they can get some players back - good signs last game with the score they kicked
Ingle Farm
Houghton - sorry Q
Henley

Whoever gets relegated is going to be very unlucky I reckon

Interesting to note that Central United have 5 away games during the second half of the year, with three in a row from Round 15 to Round 17. Tough run home.
