Take it a step further dissolve the AFL and go back to State Leagues in Every State and that will bring back State of Origin

In better times the cash cow that was the Crows could have covered off Port's issues. Now we seem to have a perfect storm which includes some sort of protest vote against AAMI and the style and quality of football being put on by both teams.
This season the Crows and Port are taking it in turns to lose to the bottom team at their home ground. That's not a great advertisement to get others to go down and watch them live.
Thats the big factor at the moment. Both teams are experiencing nice membership numbers but crowds are horrible as both are playing a very average brand of footy. Success starts happening and crowds return. But the licencing set up with port at the moment is concerning to say the least.

This is often forgotten. The cost of living is through the roof and people are on a budget, if you're running close to the bone financially, AFL games would be one of the first things to go, especially if it's on TV.
