Allan must have gone alright too. 39 disposals, 2 goals. As long as he got 1 contested possie, he got 1 more than Boyd yesterday.

TRADEMARK day for rizza. we was our link man and took full advantage .i asked a mate when he kicked the sealer, is that like his 5th-6th goal.the way north play now excites me, we give ourselves a chance without the chip backwards bullshit. the 1 time we did it it resulted in a goal for the visitors.d stewart couldnt take a mark to save himself.teasdale is my new fav player, gutsy little fella who is like an energiser battery, just keeps going. the visitors tried there best to knock the stuffing out of the 2 time magarey medalist(whufc) but his effort was exceptional.as always.what a wonderful day.

i thought port should've been 2-3 goals up at 1/4 time but from then on it was all north & i'm baffled as to how they won by only 28 points given their aerial dominance & ports poor skill level & decision making, can someone explain to me why port didn't put a tag on james allan & leigh ryswyk from half way through the second term as it was obvious they were carving port up & who were damaging up forward as well, why port continued to go short in a sideways movement & turn it over basically all day was beyond me, in the last term they went long a few times & did get some goals from it
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Best for NA
3 RYSWYCK [best on ground]
2 ALLAN
1 BAMFORD

RYSWYCK
Pace , skill, goals, sensational game

ALLAN
Im a fan of anyone who can win medals and play like Jimmy, he is a star
But today he was given more latitude than a Jumbo Jet
Fair dinkum did he eat garlic b4 the game?
Just seemed that PA didnt give a stuff about him
Jimmy was by himself most of the day, read the ball well, but picked up too many eaaaaaasy disposals
Jimmys easy day out frustrated my PA friends today

BAMFORD
Was 3rd best for NA today, was he sleeping on the job ?
Instead of repeating myself refer to my 2nd best for NA today ...

GAME
When PA played well they controlled the game
That was the first 15 minutes and the last 10 minutes
From about 1/4 time to 10 minutes to go thier skill level and errors were the worst Ive seen from them the last 2 seasons
To thier credit NA may have won by about 50 points, but the young magpies finished the game out well
NA had a better gameplan, made far less mistakes, and that mainly won the game for them

UMPIRES
14 iffy decisions
7 to each team
Umpiring did not make any diff by games end

FUTURE
NA played well v WA game 1, and ok today
Might find a spot finals time
PA can improve on todays effort, might fluke 5th if play at thier best

ive never in my 38 years seen port fumble as much as they did today. percieved pressure? not early on but as the game wore on, north were everywhere.north still flood, but not just in the opposition half anymore.

Doesn't normally matter anyway locky. Even when tagged he gets plenty of ball. Funny how it's already been discussed why he gets so many disposals (runs all day), but people who go every week still don't understand what goes on out on the oval.

Anyone who thinks James Allan is overrated, doesn't watch much SANFL. Easily one of the best in our league in the past ten years and more.

obviously he runs all day & is the best in the comp at doing this but surely at least you could run with him try 3 or 4 blokes throughout the day & try & make it a contest rather than another easy kick which are almost always damaging......i bet if he was damaging against the better teams they'd put someone on him & TRY TO curb his influence

Agree
You NA supPORTters would see Jimmy every week and see both sides of Jimmys game

ALLAN
This is how I see it
When Jimmy is given latitude he WILL invariably carve you up
When he is tagged or the opposition go man to man with him, he will still win a great % of the ball
BUT
By manning up on him you create a contest and make him accountable
Jimmy will still dominate, heez a champ, but you can nullify or occasionally stop him with making him contest more plays
This logic applies to MOST star players, it aint rocket science

TODAY
OK PA have a gameplan, start with it, back your players
Thats a great way to teach the players and make them good footballers
BUT
When any opposition player is killing you, make a move, or tag him
Common sense
Whether its James Allan or a player playing his first game, you gotta make it tougher for that player

Very happy with today's win. Maybe last week's dismal effort was just a one-off.

If Power and Magpies are one club, then does that mean Daniel Stewart played against his own club today? :?

How did Daniel Stewart go today, i reckon if he was just left to play as a permanent tall forward he would not only become a very dangerous player at SANFL level but also at AFL level given time.

Where as i agree he is a good player he never seems to cause the better teams as much trouble, speaking from the Dogs perspective he always gets a few possessions but mainly in the back half and we very rarely need to tag him as his opposite number in our team who ever that maybe is usually on the opposite side scoring goals!!
I wonder if James Allan would rather have two premiership medals which i might add Boyd will probably get (TSG) before James gets ONE.

One of the best players in the last ten years that will probably never win a premiership medal!!
