Think Gaza has been buying in the wrong type of players for the last few years. The addition of Klemasz, Radetti etc will not strengthen their midfield. A lot of these recruits have been outside receiving type players over the years or show ponies. Good to see some returning to the fold but in some cases their egos are bigger than their ability. Will be interesting to see if all the action in the off season sees them play finals again.... or if they are headed for relegation?

Radetti made the SAAFL team of the year and did i read somewhere that Klemasz won the div 2 medal. They seem like fairly handy pick ups that most clubs would relish. Gaza will play finals in 2011 IMO.

Interesting to hear that TTG have blocked a few clearances from people wanting to leave and forcing them to return. Be interesting to see how those players go back at a club that they have been openly bagging

I know District sides probably wont agree, but it does disdvantage "truely amatuer" clubs. If there is no match payments why should a club be imposed with a points system and be disadvantaged because of it.

are there not rules in country comps for blokes that werent "recruited" but moved to the town/city for work purposes that allows them to play for a club even if the club may be over their points??

surely as long as it can be proven and is reasonable there are similar rules being put in place for the SAAFL.

also have the SAAFL gotten themselves an independent auditor!? gonna be some fun and games go on this year i reckon!

Where I can see it being a problem is with UNI because I am sure they would turn over a lot more through their A grade than most.

True Bandar, but I think the old scholar clubs have to do a heap of admin work and determine if these players are truely old scholars and provide evidence as such. On the flip side also, if for one week say an SANFL club drop back 4 players who are all 2/3 points each and the club plays each week with 7 points. I dont the the SANFL club will be happy when their player is playing B grade cause the club is over 15 points and no player gets a cent for playing

At the info meeting it was stated that dispensation could be made in those circumstances. I am not sure they grasped the fact that you get told you get these players anytime from Thursday night onwards so how do you get the CFB to rule on it.

These players arent told they have to play for a certain club surely? if they are a junior they are worth 0 or have played the required games previously at the club they are worth less points

I think it will only effect the old scholar clubs who rely on recruits to eb sucessful; teams who aren't traditionally strong football schools perhaps (old iggies, pulteney, scotch). The majority of players from PAC, SHOC, ROCS would be old scholars - zero points.

My club (SMOSH) is probably one of the msot interesting old scholar clubs as we have Juniors. However, because of this, junior footballers in teh local area tend to develop rivalries with smosh, and as a result, a reluctance to come to us once finsihed at SMC. 95% Of our players in the A grade are either SMOSH juniors, or ex SMC so i can't see our 15 poitns being breached anytime soon!

Interesting to see how it will effect sal. north given their supposed loss of players. Ability to rebound after an exodus will be tough!
