well, We are. If North, West or Port win the comp., we know it's a worthless competition to be in, as We prove every year that We are better than them (for now). WAFL sides, as we all know, aren't as good as SANFL sides, so We know We're better there as well. As for the others, let's face facts. I don't need to say any more.

IMHO some VFL sides are better than Central.
Central had one way to prove me wrong and didn't accept it so we can only assume I was right.
Central are currently the best suburban team in Adelaide and have proven nothing more or nothing less.
The Central District Footy Club seems at ease with this but some of their supporters don't.

How exactly do we know Central are better than WAFL sides? What was the last result interstate match?
As WAFL clubs have taken up the challenge and Central haven't we can only assume the WAFL clubs are better.

So you expect North to win the Foxtel Cup?
I don't but I agree with you in that I hope they prove me wrong.

I think North are better than West and Port, 3 teams in the best competition in Oz, beside The AFL. North should go pretty close.

After watching North for the last 2 years it wouldn't suprise me if Labrador beat them!

(Mind you I do agree with you and rate them higher than West and Port).

I think a lot of you guys and gals miss the point ......The clubs who refused to participate did so because the whole concept was an INSULT to our clubs and League by virtue of the prize money offered. The clubs that accepted this joke of an offer have insulted our League.
I am proud of the clubs that said stick it up your arse and disgusted by those who accepted to disgrace our SANFL

They were invited by the SANFL to 'insult and disgrace' the League.

umm the only assumption that would be correct would be we dont know who is better because they havent played against each other.

plus the majority of Central supporters i have spoke are glad we are not in this competition, include people on the CDFC forum and on here and it would be a huge majority that agree with the club.

its going to be fun for all those North supporters to brag to th the WAFL teams fans there better. ;)

after speaking to a few people involved at the CDFC, the club would have paricipated if it was a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COMPETITION, but the fact the GWS and NT Thunder are in this shows that the AFL has other ambitions for the competition FACT.

Will be interesting to see how the teams involved cope with playing under different rule interpretations, and whether it will affect them when they get back to playing in the SANFL under the different rules.

Why would North fans brag they're better than WAFL clubs?
Surely we could only do that if we beat them?
I rate some of them, North couldn't get close to matching their $$$ for Jason Roe.

Dunno but players that come from other leagues seem to adapt pretty quickly so it shouldn't be an issue, it also didn't appear an issue in the 2 interstate games I've seen North involved in so far, at the end of the day footy us footy.

Mind you I hope they do have more of a VFL than SANFL influence as it's one of the reasons I find he VFL better to watch than the SANFL. A more traditional style of footy and better on the eye.

True but blokes from other leagues get trial games and internal trial games to adapt.

There is nothing surer about this comp than that they will be using the AFL interpretations of the rules especially with GWS involved in the competition.

Joining this comp or not doesn't change who is the best team outside the AFL. If anything, the refusal of the strong SANFL sides to join means that the VFL and WAFL sides still won't be able to claim that mantle.

We can still make the same hypothetical arguments we did before, just won't have that extra piece of evidence to point out that we otherwise might have.

Confused?

Me too.
