Obviously if we'd beaten Eastern Eyre then there'd be no issues, but surely you have to follow the laws!

Two examples (both involving Pakistan mind you :D :D )

Pakistan (2nd Innings) R BF 4 6
Imran Nazir c Gilchrist b Warne 16 48 2 0
Taufeeq Umar run out 0 0 0 0
Abdul Razzaq retired hurt 4 13 1 0
Younis Khan lbw b McGrath 0 7 0 0
Misbah-ul-Haq c S R Waugh b Bichel 12 23 2 0
Faisal Iqbal c M E Waugh b Warne 7 25 0 0

D Kaneria not out 1 2 0 0
Extras (nb 2) 2
Total All Out 53
24.5 overs @ 2.13 rpo

Razzaq retired hurt and did not bat so therefore Pakistan are all out.

Agree with Eags. How can you get them all out if the last batsmen doesn't front? The bowling team is out there ready to finish the game, batting team is unable to do so.

Surely this should be to the detriment of the team unable to finish the game and they are declared 'all out'.

If GF go through the the final then they have been rewarded even though they were the ones who couldn't complete the game.

Not that I GAF!!!

In regards to the Henderson Shield fiasco, there is a recent precedent for this very senario.

SACA Grade Cricket denied Adelaide an Outright victory vs Kensigton a couple of years ago when a player was injured fielding in week 1 of a 2 day match. Adelaide Bowled the Browns out to claim first innings and sent them in again. Jason Gillespie took the 9th wicket to fall on the last ball of the day and as per the 1st innings thought they were all out. However Kensington claimed that had there been another delivery to come the injured player would have commenced his innings despite not taking part in the first innnings and had been seen drinking at Parkinson Oval to watch his team bat :?

It seems in both cases the MCC rule book has been thrown out the window....

Believe it or not, I have a decent understanding of the rules, and they would be considered 9/whatever, and their innings closed (technically declared)...

I have to agree with SACA on that one Heater. Irrespective of whether the player was there or not or capable/incapable of batting, if there were no deliveries left in the match for him to face, then they remain 9 down. The opposition would not have had an opportunity to dismiss him. MCC laws clearly state that there must be deliveries left to constitute a dismissal.

Im confused.

There should be a rule that a captain must state if there is only going to be 10 batting and not 11. this would fix all the problems wouldnt it?

OnSong take of your Eastern Eyre hat. Now you have been handed the shield on a platter fronting up against GF.

What makes you say that? Didn't EE beat Lincoln earlier as well?
From what I can gather, the GF batsman retired hurt during his innings? Not a DNB?
I don't think EE would care who they play to be honest.

Joel Fitzgerald to Kimba ex Ramblers,Sturt and Port Adelaide (everyone is allowed one poor choice !)
should kick a few each week. I reckon the Rambler boys would love to see him play at home :D

I thought this one was confirmed a long time ago and a certain senior player from Ramblers gave Burger a piece of his mind when he found out that he was playing for Kimba

Ryan Mont to Cowell im pretty sure (has a nice partner teaching down there), talked to Johno Hunt a while back and sounded like he was headed back to Tumby (BOH might know more)

Burger Fitz sounded very keen to play at Kimba where he know lives / works - but sounds like they have lost josh (mallala) & jarred seal (south), plugger harriss (mallala) - however gain a couple back from injury & plenty of rumours them gaining some ex locals - would b hard to go past for back2back prems 9 months out

Cleve will loose tj & andy claxton both living in ade - no news of any new players

just my thoughts and word of mouth from some mates, but like all summer talk could b b*llshit - by the way i mentioned a long time back an ex kimba / state country heading to lincoln (francis) and a mail medail from the adelaide amature league (miegel) moving over - both teachers - anybody signed them??? both would play rep footy if fit i recon
