Unfortunately Cove have a number of club social events prescheduled on Sundays that involve sponsors and therefore cannot be postponed or cancelled.

When slow mediums are bowling bouncers of a good length that on normal matting wouldn't rise above the stumps you are in for an interesting day.
Keep the good old roll out or stick down matting if your clubs get a choice.

Plympton Oval has had stuck down matting since i can remember, and fair enough this particular matting set is past its used by date and is ready for relaying, but we've never EVER had the issues that people are talking about here.
Our second grounds have also more often than not had stuck down matting, and most of the time we use matting thats generally a bit cheaper than that on the main oval, and again we've never had any of these issues.
So how cheap must this absolute rubbish be that the councils are laying????????

I expect it costs a lot more than the thin strip on Plympton Oval. It has two separate layers and would be more about OH&S than anything. If the Ramblers had a stong batting line up but weak bowling this issue would never have been raised. It is way off the mark.

Getting close. Forecast has gone from 35 yesterday to 37 last night and now (the 11:40 forecast) it's 39. 2 more forecasts before the 9am deadline, what's the chances of going over?
