SCA have all their 20/20 dates preset and that worked so that would be the best way to do it. Also some of these games for week night games which also worked well.
Unfortunately Cove have a number of club social events prescheduled on Sundays that involve sponsors and therefore cannot be postponed or cancelled.

They aren't alone there and that is the problem of having flexible dates.

I also believe the association erred when allowing teams, not just Cove, to play the games after the timeframe allowed.

We all agree the association should have set dates at the start of the season so club functions can be planned around t20 matches

I hope so, but probably not. It will take another 3 or 4 years before the association acts on it im guessing. Although im sure there will be proposals of some sort that the Association can think about

I'll certainly be pushing for it to happen for next year. Maybe other clubs can speak to their delegates and the other members of the executive committee to get them to consider it as well.

Played a game at Kangarilla Oval and they had they NEW council lad crap on there pitch and it's the worst stuff I have ever played on. Give me a wet turf wicket anyday before that stuff.

When slow mediums are bowling bouncers of a good length that on normal matting wouldn't rise above the stumps you are in for an interesting day.

Keep the good old roll out or stick down matting if your clubs get a choice.

Plympton Oval has had stuck down matting since i can remember, and fair enough this particular matting set is past its used by date and is ready for relaying, but we've never EVER had the issues that people are talking about here.

Our second grounds have also more often than not had stuck down matting, and most of the time we use matting thats generally a bit cheaper than that on the main oval, and again we've never had any of these issues.

So how cheap must this absolute rubbish be that the councils are laying????????

I expect it costs a lot more than the thin strip on Plympton Oval. It has two separate layers and would be more about OH&S than anything. If the Ramblers had a stong batting line up but weak bowling this issue would never have been raised. It is way off the mark.

Wouldn't know what ours is worth as it is council driven. Coro and ourselves are in Mitcham council.

Getting close. Forecast has gone from 35 yesterday to 37 last night and now (the 11:40 forecast) it's 39. 2 more forecasts before the 9am deadline, what's the chances of going over?

Just noticed that myself. Surely we can't get heated out with this being about the second day above 30 that we would have played on.

I see sunday is 42 now too. Lukcy no association game this weekend.
